Hey long time since I posted something worth a look so here goes. Went and started to germ three Purple Wreck's, three White Rhino's and one Wonder Woman fem seed and one fem LA Confidential. After only three full days they already broke ground and are on there way. I am just using a small 2'ft shop light with grow bulbs in it to start them and will move them to my bigger bloom box in a week or two. Finally using decent strains and will from now on. In my bloom box I have a few cfl's and one 6'' AC sunsystem hood with a switchable ballast with 400w Hortilux eye bulbs both MH and HPS. Add a few inline duct fans and a trio of Fox Farm nutes and grow mediums and I am set. Really digging the Light Warrior seed starting mix and I am trying a root booster from Ferti-lome. I love this hobby! Oh and after this I may run either Hashberry or Satori from Mandela or Blue Venom and ak48 not sure just yet tho will see how this round goes. I was a bit cheap and didn't get all femmed seeds so never know! Anyone grow Reserve Privada's Purple Wreck before?

Hey once a person in the boonies breaks down and buys good genetics from whatever source available its usually a good time!

oh and the damn LA Confidential hasn't even germ yet so thats a loss, might throw a reg Hashberry or Satori seed in its place. Mandela seems to make nice strains.

Yo Frosted glad to see you started another log bro.

Will be following along to see if I can pick up anything useful to try or just new. Did you make your box taller, and are you still gonna run the extra cfl wattage in the area.? Or have you went a lil bigger from last time if my memory serves me right you got a couple 250w back during the last log. How do i subscribe to threads this been pissin me off, I forget about good logs.

I'm going to enjoy watching this one.

Something I noticed about the White Rhino; if you seed em the buds smell A LOT fruitier than otherwise. Of course they aren't as potent...

Anyone else notice that about any other strains (the fruity odor that is).

KillaBG. I did score two 250w MH setups at an auction for $5.50 for both, but I gifted them to another guy that is joining the crusade. That way I can trade clones and all that good stuff without having to knock down some walls in my house to make room lol. I received some freebies from my last order of seeds and the site mentioned they had hoped their customers would give them out to others with like minds,,,so I did that. As for my bloom box your memory is good cause I had a 4' tall box and after you add the ac hood and pots there wasn't much actual space. I made it just a bit over 6' tall now, and that was the inside dimensions. I am reworking the duct and etc today and hanging up some 2mil Mylar.Not sure about the CFLs in the bloom box, probably will have two, one on each side of hps or my buy the kind that clip on the Sunsystem hood. I also noticed my new seedlings were a bit spindly so I bought a sunblaze22 2'ft T5 HO and transplanted them and buried them a bit deeper and gave em some root booster/stress reducer.

Leadmagnet, I will try to record the difference if I choose to seed the W Rhino which I may, so thats a neat observation!

Headshake! Damn long time away from these boards and wouldn't I know it your still here doing your thang! Glad to have ya around..

Oh and about the subscribe thing I believe you have to subscribe then set it up for email notifications and then your set. Also thru the User Cp it should list updated threads you are subscribed to. Take a peek at my three leaf Purple Wreck, I hope this mutant is a girl. And lastly I did say a prayer for my LA Confidential seed and then threw a Hashberry in its place!

Just a small update. T5 was not really doing it for these seedlings they asked for more light, and I gave in. Placed a MH Bulb in Bloom box and Turned it on. The seedlings seemed behind to me for being about two weeks old. I was having some temp issues in this box and had to take off the carbon filter till I get a better fan for heat extraction. Thinking about going with a Classic or premium edition Eco Plus inline 6'' fan rated at either 340cfm-classic or 440cfm for the premium. The current inline duct booster fans are just not enough.
Also, I think the Fox Farm Ocean Soil was a bit much for the little seedlings and the leaves show some issues. I had mixed it one part Pro-mix/Light Warrior/Ocean Forrest ratio going on so it might have been a bit much.. Things will even out..Gotta love soil!

Well looks like your waiting for take off, So while we all wait can we gets some shots of ya box.? With those inline duct fans can we run em like parallel to help boost more air movement.? Or will this cause issues an actually work at a disadvantage to ya.? Not to sure how your exhaust is set up, But if its like inline pulling air out box threw hood. scrubber-fan-ac hood-open end sucking air out box.? Maybe throw another inline on the hood to push, and have one pulling air.? How is your exhaust system set up if you don't mind giving a lil more detail.?

Yup, been a bit busy tho and I will make a more laid out once over with some pics and all. For the most part its a box made out of 1''x3'' wood and some basic .75''plywood. Measurements are 48''W30''D72''H. One 6'' inline duct booster fan 160 max cfm. One 4'' inline duct booster fan 80cfm max,for incoming fresh air and to try for a more passive air exhaustion in general. Using a Sun system 2 6'' Ac hood with Hortilux MH for Veg and HPS bulb for flower. Box is mostly Mylar with some white painted spots.. I will follow up with some pics in a bit.

Hey about the booster inline duct fans, running them on the same duct in a row or even spaced out I would imagine would suck. If they were identical they would improve things maybe a bit but they would still have the same cfm so it just makes more sense for me to buy a nice inline fan that will handle pushing or pulling thru my Carbon Filter I made from Bodom's thread on here. I will most likely buy a Eco plus brand fanEcoPlus 6" Inline Blower 440 cfm - Interior Gardens I am guessing that will work well enough for this size box. In the future I see a better filter system based on my needs and that fan seemed perfect. After any work at all it only pays to do it right the first time, which I didn't out of not knowing what to buy when my mind changes as much as my tv changes channel.

Here are some current shots of the box and the hopeful girls. Only one is a femmed seed (Wonder Woman) and the rest of the gang. I still think they are a bit behind but will take off shortly. They are at day 13 with one of the Hashberry plants being started a few days ago.

Well bought my fan EcoPlus 6" Inline Blower 440 cfm - Interior Gardens It kinda seems bigger then I pictured it. Might be overkill for my setup but won't know till I install it tomorrow..

Installed the fan yesterday and monitored it for a few hours before putting the lil ones back in the box. Finally I am able to keep the light really close and have all the doors closed on the box and still keep decent temps. I am glad so far that I bought the more expensive version of the brand I went with.

440CFM Is probably more then I needed but once I add on the filter and possible extra cfl's to the box it might be just enough. Searching thru some adds for lights online I keep looking at those UFO Led lights and wishing I got one for the one side of my box where the light is not as strong.

Oh and if anyone has used big fans like I bought and thinks they run quieter hung on bungee or spring lines let me know. Currently it is bolted to the side of the box and tho it doesn't sound all that loud to me it may to guests in the house. I makes the box hum a bit and I am trying to tighten up anything that may vibrate like hinges etc.

Plants are really enjoying that Mh. You will have bushes in no time, And I think tho Frosted a bungee cord might make it run quieter if noise is a issue where you are. I myself have not test this tho but it seemed like the way to go for me.

Just feed em for the first time. 1/4 Strength of Grow big and some Cal-mag with distilled water. They are starting to kick up the growth and they have short internode spacing. I really hope the mutant Purple Wreck three leafer (can't member the term) is a female (as with all of them). Temps are really nice to manage with those speed switches.

Nice! This looks like a good mix.

I like the PW oddity, that's cool. Looking forward to seeing the Wonder Woman, the Hashberry sounds interesting, hard to go wrong with *any* Mandela stuff.

You can cut down on some of the noise by using the bungee cords. It's good that you overbuilt the box w/ the .75", I imagine it's already pretty quiet. Some that I've seen made with *thin* plywood, resonated horribly, unless the fan was suspended.

I'm watchin'.

Hey ECM Thanks for the info. I will most likely keep the fan as is this round. The air flow is nice, and it doesn't seem that noisy.Like you mentioned the plywood I went with was, to be honest on sale and the added noise protection was by accident. The plants should be a good test of my new setup. I am going to under feed them tho as I have read some of the strains were better off on the lighter side. Well see tho, things move along pretty fast.

on the noisy fan issue--

have you ever ran a fan controller on the fan....and play with the different settings....

Personally, I have a vortex 483 and if i run it on full blast....my tent is around 82F....but if i lower the fan speed....it lowers it to 74F and is much more quiet....i dont know why its a lower temp, maybe it pulls the cold air from the room slower over the light...i have no clue.....but i just started on the lowest setting and monitored the temps....then adjusted to the next setting on the next day and monitored till i found my best speed configuration....my fan is much more quieter on the lower setting than on full blast! good luck!

Hey Killa1-5 if you glance two post of mine up you will see I mention that I was loving that speed switch I bought. I also mentioned it earlier, I am not sure why you cannot devote all your time to my thread with having all those plants you take care of its like kids if you already have three its the same as having 10 right? So add my plants in my thread on your already busy plate would ya...if I said please...?lol jk I am glad you can even find time to share bud pics much less comment/teach others like myself.

They should always try to upsell a person buying a high powered fan, no matter if its online or in a store it should be offered. I do not even worry about my temps being to high. Now its too cold in the lights off period (4hrs) then I would like but I will run my space heater on a thermo soon enough. Thanks for checking in!: thumbsup: Oh and any tips on the Purple Wreck as far as keeping it a mum or cloning.. if any variance then you would for another strain?

I love snapping photos.. Now I just wish my camera was good... All plants are around 20-21 days with the exception of the Hashberry it is a few days younger but catching up. I also didn't even think of its age when I gave my first low dose of nutes yesterday so it was feed with the rest, when I normally would have waited for more nodes before starting that. Hashberry is not nute friendly from what the breeders page states so my bad...

I am going to shoot for a low of 69-70F in the light off period..Cheers peeps
also this site seems like it has change to me. More mean people that talk always about the price of green or what they hate about a person's style of grow on here...anyone else notice this or was I just grumpy lately and too hypersensitive?

You are right about the change of crowd on here. I remember when I first joined a couple years ago it was way different, you didn't see shit talking and spamming back then.

Maybe the mods should think about tightening the rope a little

Well BD I think that is something they probably try to do, but I would rather have just better humans in the world....It seems most on here are under 18 either physically or mentally some days... I am thankful of those that I have had positive online forum exchanges with..Maybe I just need to change my perspective never know I guess.. Thanks for chiming in on that thought cause it makes me want to just click off this site and never come back at times.
