Hello, Cannabis.com! I am happy to say that I have finally registered after months of reading all of your wonderful, insightful posts! I look forward to speaking with "youse" and sharing the herbal bond that brings us together!

SO let's begin...

ONCE UPON A TIME...I walked out my door to get the mail, and LO & BEHOLD, I stumble across a notebook with a CD in it. On the front of the notebook are the words: "Please post me on Cannabis.com."

Now, being the kind-hearted and gentle person that I am, and due to the fact that I also smoke cannabis recreationally and medicinally, I decided, "WHY NOT?!" (see picture at bottom)

BE CLEAR: This is not my grow. As it states in my signature line, I do not grow cannabis. If i did, it would be done in a legal manner and at a legal location. That being said, I will be typing this thread in the first person just to avoid having to repeatedly type he/she and confuse people. I have also read this mysterious journal front to back several times, so I have an intimate knowledge of how the grow went. At times, I might pose some hypothetical questions on how one would approach some growing issues so we can keep the dialogue open. I will also speak in the present tense as if this grow was currently happening. Please enjoy.

EDIT: I'm very grumbly right now due to the fact that I made a copy of the CD and brought it with me to start posting pics...and the friggin' CD doesn't work. It is "not readable by this computer!" Anyway, I'm going to be trying to get some of them emailed to me so I can post them today. Please bear with me. Until then, feel free to ask me any questions that can be answered without pics for the moment (i.e. size of space, # of plants, methodology, etc). THANKS!

OK, OK, I know you are all as dissapointed as I am that I haven't posted any pics with the start of the new journal (except for the "journal" pic...lol), and no one has asked any questions yet, so I'll start out by giving some of the background info to spice things up...

"So, I've always wanted to grow a plant, and recently, a friend of mine, colleague and smoking buddy, suggested that we set up a grow room. I said, well, the only thing that's stopping me is that I can't do it where I live. Blah blah...so we end up setting one up at his place.

I started the seeds at my place on a inside a window just so that we could get things started. They looked similar to most peoples "week-old seedlings" but they were a bit stretched and starting to curl in various which-ways due to the lack of lighting, cuz I was too scared to open the blinds on the window in front of which they were sitting.

SO, after deciding that we didnt need a full extra bedroom to just a personal stash, we ended up picking a closet to create our own little "Garden of Eden."

Closet Dimensions:

HEIGHT = 8 ft
WIDTH = 6 ft
DEPTH = 23 inches (approx 2 ft)

After watching The Green Man's "I Grow Chronic" and a few other videos, plus reading countless threads and information, we decided to split the closet into respective VEG/FLOWER sections. We almost devided the space completely in half, then realized that we wanted a bigger flower room than veg room so we divided the space into 1/3 and 2/3. We also built a raised platform for the plants to sit on with an 18" space underneath for resevoirs and equipment."

Hey, babystarbud, I know you said dont post a newbie pic of "this is my week-old seedling," but I had to do it. It's part of the comprehensive account of "my" grow.

So without further ado...

Here are my seedlings at about 1 week from germinating.

(See picture at the bottom...I haven't figured out how to put pics exactly where I want them yet)

I had not realized how lucky I was to have such great luck with germination. I started with 15 bagseeds from a bag that was brown, compressed, but very potent. Couchlock, potent. It was so 'couch-lockey' that I couldn't smoke it at most times when I normally smoke cuz I was left pretty mellow and not wanting to do much.

So, I popped a couple seeds into a wet paper towel, slipped them into a semi-open zip-lock baggie (mainly cuz last time I tried this a long time ago, they dried out due to my forgetting to keep them wet...but it turns out that this helps them germ faster) and in a few days, I had nice taproots showing and even some growing into the fibers of the paper towel!

I then planted awkwardly planted them in some small rockwool cubes and set them in a humi-dome on the inside of my windowsil...with the blinds CLOSED! Do not do the previous. your seedlings will not get enough light and they will stretch and look like this...enjoy.

Even though this grow is not at my place and my grow partner is good at keeping up with watering them, a timed irrigation system sounds like the perfect solution to my worries whilst I'm away. ..."

Pump in resevoir underneath left veg side shelf. I believe I'm still giving them just water at this point....with adjusted pH, of course!


I first rigged the water with just the tubes and tried to adjust the pressure with the little knobs on the 8-head splitter. It did not work. It is impossible. When you change the pressure of one, you change the pressure of them all. Drip heads are imperative. Open it up all the way and get a regulated drip head. I think mine is 1 GPH (gallon per hour) which is really plenty for what I'm doing.

Notice I put reflective material in the right side also.

Tack and tape the borders...velcro on the middle and top (will show pic ltr of that)

It works pretty will, I think. We haven't ever really kept the doors closed. It is in progress to being fully concealable... but its not there yet.

Damn, I need to start playing hard to get, huh? No one asks any questions if I give them all the info right up front. LOL.

GreenFOG, You have a seriously nice setup goin there buddy keep up the good work. Its nice to see the enitre step by step process of the room build and all. Ive been seeing your posts on all the random threads on here, thanks for all the input. Please check out my grow at First time Grow room White Widow and let me know what you think. Any helpful tips or suggestions would be great. Thanks again

Sweet Setup

My light proof (dark curtain) has velcro attached on the ends. I stapled the velcro to the door frame, and I stapled velcro around the curtain. Velcro door without a light leak. Works well for my room. This is what I came up with to give me easy access and a dark room. I'm checking out all the recent grows going on right now People are saying that this site is lacking, but with all these new grows being documented on here, newbies can easily jump in

Ok, guys. Here we go. TheGreenFog here. Time for some more photos! Plants have grown well since setting up the drip system with the 1 gph drippers. The plants are in the veg side of my grow closet, of which the walls are lined with mylar. Tell me what you think. Questions, comments, criticizm are welcome!

Thanks, Mike. I will be posting another thread in Growroom Setups later with more pictures on exactly how the closet compontents were built, etc! Your grow looks nice too. I posted a comment there.

They just keep growing. I can't help but take them out and take lovely centerfold shots of them. Some are growing better than others. Dunno really why except that it may be because they came from bagseed... In any case, they are still ok, I think.

There are 13 plants in all. We started with 15, but a certain someone watered the seedlings when they were very young with cold water out of a fridge water dispenser. I was surprised they didn't all die. Just two. Other than that, the other ones seem to be ok in the rockwool.

Still growing!! Starting to look like a forest. I'm so happy! We can't wait until they flower and we can smoke them... I know that's a long way away, but we've never done this before and its exciting!

TheGreenFog thanks for the info on my thread man ur a big help and I have to say for someone that found a book and cd of a grow you are an exceptional help in all aspects of the grow. You mind checkin out my thread man I think ive got big problems in the Veg box. Keep up the good work here man and the pics are awesome I cant wait to graduate past a soil setup!!!

Well, guys and gals...I was gonna sit here and post a bunch of new pics, but just got a call and I gotta leave in a few minutes. Bummer I will, however post some...and hope that you guys leave me some comments, questions, advice, or whatever. I like hearing from you.

Edit#2: (sigh)...Well, I waited like 15 minutes and never was able to upload the stinking pictures.
