I went to my uncles farm where he has a huge pile of cow shit that has been sitting outside the barn for 2 years. I scooped up a bagfull of those dried cow chips and took then home. I took a few pieces and put in a bucket and mixed with alot of water and made poo- tea.
I watered the girls with the mix and WHAM! they are beefing up and starting to look like they are getting ready to explode with growth.
they are under 400 watt florecents.

Cow shit is better... any ruminant too... the cud-chewers or the multi-chambered stomach critters like sheep... or hindgut fermenters like rabbits have good shit for compost too.
Horse shit I'd avoid because of the sawdust that usually comes along for the ride.
You can get composted manure from the farmers supply or from a friendly farmer.

From everything I have read bat shit or GUANO is best. that can be bought at your local greenhouse. Guano tea is surpurb according to HT. thats where i got the idea.
Cow shit can be gotten at a farm, just tell the farmer its for a few houseplants. he shouldt care much.
tell him you want it fresh, the cow manure in the stores was sterilized.
you want au'natural. for the compost heap.
Doggie poo or pidgen poo isnt good.
And for god sakes DON't shit in a bucket and plant your girl.
human shit is just......... well nasty shit. it contains some nasty viruses and germs that will make you sick.
thats why we flush it. we dont smoke it.
i recomend taking a trip in to the country to a farm. the scenery is wonderful and the cow poo is THE SHIT!

make sure that the poo is broken down all the way or else you may end up getting sick...................much like the recent spinach scare

That reminds me
1 large cow chip (broken into many pieces.)
1 gallon of water
2 tablespoons corn syrup(high sucros sugar)
1 bucket

break cow pie into many pieces
add corn syrup to water and mix well
dump water mixture into bucket with your manure
let stand for 24 hours
Water the girls with this mixture every other watering.
thats what i use and WOW they are exploding with growth.

Not to mention using fresh manure is a good way to burn plant roots to the point where there's little chance of recovery. Those thinking about doing this should be very careful and not rush into it. It is very easy to mix up a batch way too rich and all you'll get are burned and shriveled up sticks. I highly recommend going very slow and experimenting on a small fraction of the plants while you learn the proper mix and length of "curing time". Yes, manure should be cured before using.

Very right about a month curing time should do it. Thats all the farmers allow for before tilling it under before planting around here.
