Question First time growing

I just started indoor growing for the first time 2 1/2 weeks ago and the pictures show where I am at with the plant currently. I'm on a strict budget as I don't have a job and had some supplies already lying around the apartment. I am using a flourescent light with approximately 14-16 hours of light a day.

I have the plant in a well circulated area and when you put your nose to the plant a distinct yummy smell is there. Do I need to worry about the room smelling primarily of my grow or will it stay relatively around the corner of my room it is growing in?

Also, are there any ways to induce the flowering cycle sooner? Advantages and disadvantages to doing so?

the odor will depend on the strain, temps, etc ... a lot of strains will stink up your whole house, yup ... you can force flowering at any point in the plant's life, by settimg your light cycle to 12-hour days, however, yield heavily depends on maturity of the plant ... I personally, don't induce flowering until the nodes start alternating, on the main stem ... (usually after the 5th or 6th sets) ... the alternating nodes indicate the plant is mature, and ready for pollination ... good luck
