Once the roots are well developed and dip down into the nutrient solution do I still need to run the water pump and spray them, or can they pull up nutrients all by themselves?

No responces huh? We'll I'm trying it anyway. I will re-post my results.

(short term) worked on most, one got dry section on root about two inches from the base down, rest were fine.
