I grew pot, now I want to grow tomatoes. Any differences?

Can you grow tomatoes like you would grow pot? Examples: Will I need to remove male plants at first sign? Are there difference between lighting or temperature? Can I train or prune them?

I'm giving a presentation Monday for a class, and it needs to be a "how to" presentation. I was thinking of doing a "how to grow marijuana" presentation, but I don't know my teacher very well, so I would rather do a "how to grow tomatoes" presentation.

Thanks for the help fellas

They are very similar genetically to cannabis. No male or female problems. They like the same nutrients and growing conditions. And they can be a little finiky just like cannabis.

Use the "Miracle Grow for Tomatoes" and you can't go wrong!

They need ALOT of water and alot of light...very hungry fast growing plants.

For staked tomatoes, pruning is different. You leave the top in and knock off the lateral shoots. If it is a true bush tomato (eg Roma) then there is no pruning.

They are a lot harder than cannabis if you are growing indoors because they require buzzing insect pollination. You can aid pollination by touching the top of the flower bracts, gently, for a few seconds with a vibrating device like an electric toothbrush.

Like cannabis they are prone to magnesium deficiency and spidermite attack. Mg def looks similar, yellow leaves with green veins, but in tomatoes the leaves will curl as well. Spidermite attack looks different, tomatoes don't get as obviously speckled as cannabis, instead the leaves take on a bronzed look with speckling noticable on close inspection.

That's it, can't think of anything else atm.
