heat stress right before harvest

Hello all,

I haven't posted on this forum in a while... I just finished my first grow. One chocolope plant under a 250W HPS. I will post some pictures later in the week. I am concerned about the possibility that I burned the tops of the buds in the last couple of days before I cut her down. For 2 months I had a box fan blowing into the open wardrobe, and for these last 2 days I made a dumb decision to turn the fan off. In addition to the box fan outside the cab, I had a panasonic whisperfan exhausting the cab, and I left it on thankfully, and I left the doors to the cab open. The ballast is built into the light so it gets hot, and my exhaust fan didn't suck air directly from the light like an air cooled hood or anything. Temperatures with the box fan blowing in were low 70's, so I'm afraid it could have been a bit hotter with no direct air flow to the plant. I had the plant pretty close to the light. When I trimmed after harvest I noticed a few brown tips on some of the small leaves coming out of the buds. these leaf ends would have been trimmed off anyway so none of the good flowers were noticeably affected. But I'm really worried that some potency was lost in the high heat. If you have a plant that has been flowering for 2 months and looking great, could you ruin it by keeping it too close to the light for a day or two? If the THC degraded or anything this mistake is going to haunt me.

don't worry about it ... that close to harvest, there's not a lot of damage to be done ... in fact, in the 'old days', a lot of commercial growers around the world, felt extreme heat forced the plant to produce more resins, etc. ... we now know that doesn't improve the plant, however ... congratulations on finishing your first grow, most beginners kill off their first seedlings
