    ^As Dutch Pimp said before his roots got stuck to his clay pot.......
    I was going to transplant into clay pots so to avoid this problem -would lining the clay pots with maybe a plastic bag/garbage bag be okay? Or is it not good for the plants?

    You could ask your question under that thread.
    Yes you can use plastic bags for that purpose. Make sure they have same holes where the clays have. Use food bags if you're worried about the quality of plastic.

    Once upon a time I loved to use clay pots. But they became too expensive; I would throw them out after each grow because of the apparent salt build up on the pots.

    Prior to transplanting from a clay pot to a larger clay pot I would use shish kabob skewers to scrap around the edge of the dirt to minimize root damage. Seemed to work pretty well.
