Thread: Ratio of green to dry weight?

has anyone ever weighed thier crop before and after drying? If so what % of green weight did you finally end up with dry?

I haven't harvested yet, hell, my first grow started two weeks ago...But I've read you can expect to lose around 80% or so. Hope this helps.

It can be difficult to judge.

Don't water the plants for a few days before harvest and a lot of the moisture will dissipate naturally.

If you have them as dry as possible by the time you harvest then you might lose 70% at the final dry weigh in.

So you can see how the % will fluctuate depending on how much moisture is in the buds. I watered my last grow and the weight of a couple of buds broke the stems.

Had to use them as a test smoke

Definitely count on loosing 75% of the total green weight, sometimes a little more. One thing is for sure, never get too excited by the green weight, it's a cruel trick.
