I plan on growing for my wife and myself, possibly another person, I have access to one 1000 watt HPS lamp, how many plants can I realistically grow in a 10'x10' area, with that light, in dirt?

depends on what growing method you are going with. what are your desires/expectations?

I'm hoping to do a 90 day grow, from clone to harvest, the strain I grow depends on what's available to me at the time, I hope to grow either 12 or 18 plants, depending on if I grow for another patient I know, that way I stay within county and state laws. I don't plan to start this grow until around November, due to temperature issues, and I need to clear out and prepare the space. I plan on using Mylar on the walls, and a few fans to keep the air moving. I was wondering if this light is enough for the amount of space I have, half of my 10'x20' shop. Thanks,

Things have changed a little, the space and lighting are the same, but I'm starting from seed, still planning on growing in soil, still shooting for a 3-4 month indoor season, except for my autos, which should be about 60 days from seed to weed. I'm looking for a good, neutral soil, with just enough nutes to get started, but not so much my plants will burn when I start feeding them. I know I need a ph tester, and I plan on a large resivoir of water in my growroom so I don't have to carry water. I plan on building a veg chamber, running CFLs in it, then using the rest of the space for flowering. I already ordered my beans, KC 33, Seedsman Skunk Haze, and Lowryder Dwarf Mix, I know not to expect too much out of the lowryders, but I really wanted to try an auto strain. Anyway, I've yet to clear out my grow room, or buy reflective material for the walls, but I'm getting a clearer idea of what I want to accomplish. The full size plants will be LST'd most likely, the dwarfs will just be let to grow as they please.
