a couple of ?? on sexing, i have bits and pieces

do u remember this thread when u was telling me to wait and it will show sex soon enough??well it's been 6 and 1/2 weeks and still no show on sex not any of them and i fimmed half of them and left the other half the ones i fimmed are about half the size as the ones not but are alot more bushier so i ask if u would watch this thread as i will get sum pics to put up to show u the ones not fimmed are about 2 ft tall now and i think i need to put on 12/12 cycle real soon so what should i do about that??

They will double or triple in size in the first two or three weeks of flowering.So I would start flowering now, PEACE

yes i used a mag glass and i see nothin all i see is new leaf sets coming out no balls no hairs im putting them into the 12/12 cycle as i can't wait any longer as sum are 2 1/2 ft tall and are getting to big

how long does it take b4 males will drop there pollen? i mean say the male shows on the nite cycle or whenever for that matter how long do u have b4 the pollen is released?just want to know how close i need to watch them i check them 2 time a day as it is.

In laymans terms, female = hairs, male = ball on a stick.

spray the plant with ph water (or get some dutchmaster reverse (NOW))on the dark side till they show, it will limit the pollens movement. The reverse you need to use at the onset of 12/12. If your conditions are proper, males will be limited.

while im here i would like to ask another ?? when people talk about no light leaks on the 12/12 dark cycle does it have to be 100% light proof reason i ask is i have my tri meter on the wall and the leds lit up the room pretty good so i covered it up but it still gives off alil dull glow from the sides and a lil from the duct fan cage, not direct light but a real low dulled light so to say if u walked in the room and closed the door it looks 100% dark and then when your eyes adjust to the dark thats when u can see the dull real low light, is that ok or still no good ???

You should not be able to see your hand in front of your face in the dark........or it's not dark enough.

Preflowers can take up to 8 weeks (or longer....) to show so you've discovered the reason alot of people don't wait for them......the plant gets too big.

i did'nt have dm reverse but i did have sum dm penetrator it says it's ment for spraying so i added alil of the to the ph'd water and sprayed them down

well the only reason i waited for sex to show is becauce stinky told me too. i asked about this 2 weeks ago, and sum told me to go 12/12 to show then switch back, and i saw the green guy vid where he took clones and found sex that way. but stinky told me to wait and not get in a hurry as going to 12/12 and back stresses the plant, and is not a good thing to do. so thats why i waited i mean i still have sum room but they are gettin a bit big so i went on to do 12/12.

That's kinda weird from my experience, but I would take that as a good sign. I would suspect they will be female, since there are no signs of males.

OH yeah, just a thought. I know there is someplace that you can look up the flowering times and light schedules of different varieties of weed. I think I remember something about some kinds take like 160 days to flower. If yours is one of those, that might help explain it. Also, I know some kinds don't flower with anything more than 11 hours light. Something to think about since you said you were doing 12/12.

oh really nice to know, but it's weird cause some are bag seeds. and sum are ice,crystal,ww but those are 3 weeks younger than the bag seeds. so i took 1 of each of the ice,crystal,ww to make mothers out of them. but i need to know sex first so i just put them all on 12/12 the bag seeds are 2 1/2 ft tall and the good seeds are right at 1 1/2 ft. so i'll sex them all at the same time and pick the mothers out of the bunch and let the rest flower on.

Ok well here's another way to do it......Go to 12/12 lighting. When you can tell which are males....get rid of them. Don't switch back from 12/12...what would you want to do that for? You'll lose a good month of time. Once the males are gone just let the females finish. How hard is that?

That's the most people who don't wait for preflowers do....go to 12/12, wait and see which are males, then get rid of them.

Ps...I'd be pretty careful tossng that Reverse around on everything. The directions are very specific and I woud follow them if I were you. The DM penetrator doesn't do anything by itself.....it's to add to things.

Southern African varieties often flower with as little as 8 or 9 hours of darkness/15 to 16 hours of light. Other 3oth latitude varieties including most indicas flower when the darkness cycle lasts a minimum of 9 to 10 hours. Jamaican and some Southeast Asian varieties will trigger at 11 hours of darkness and ripen during September or October. Equatorial varieties trigger at 12 hours or more of darkness.
