just finished first week of flowering, and there reaching real close to 4 ft tall. im roping them down and they are still growing up i tied them down from 4ft to 3 ft last nite, and i check them this morning and they grew back to 3 1/2 ft over nite. i know it did'nt grow the whole 1/2 ft over nite sum of that was just where the stalk bent upwards so maybe the growth was 1 or 2 inches .

i tied sum string close to the top of the stalks and bent them over and over nite they curved back up and are growing str8 again. any tips that could help me out or am i just stuck??will the growth up wards slow down any??im gonna keep roping them down but there getting really big and i can only raise the light another ft and thats it. maybe i could use less light, maybe that would slow the upwards growth down??? it's not that i don't like them to grow alot but the outward growth is as much as the upward growth, and there overlaping each other big time.

i started cutting back sum fan leaves, but im scared to cut to much but the fan leaves are huge i mean 1 covers light from 1 whole side, so i cut them back so all the bud sites will get light. i cut 3 from each plant i would cut sum branches back but every branch has alot of bud sites on them, and i can't bring myself to cut them anyways any ideas??thanks for the input

I have bent them in loops and they grow. Now one thing FAN leafs are not FAN leafs , Not SHADE leaf. They are solar feeding cell for the plant. They convert sunlight/etc, with the ferts, water,etc to make BUD. With out them you have a stick.
Use chlose pins to weigh them down.
Now next time plan ahead to the blooming cycle.
they will grow x amout till they get in to the full blooming part of the blooming(?) cycle . This is dependant on the strain.
One strain I had had 11X 18 in leafs/shade/fan/ etc. The buds weighted about one OZ to 3-4 inches.
Note if fan leaves were not needed the plant would not make them.
Plan ahead for the next crop, and you will be supprized.

How many plants , what size room / area , what kinda light ? Learn to start tucking the huge leaves in / out of the way = OSC ^ is correct . Avoid any and all stress esp. in flower unless you like hermies .

yea i know about what fan leafs do but there were so many and anything under them are getting no light and xcrispi by cutting in the flower cycle causes hermies??if so why did stinky say that thats when she does most of her clone cuttin is in the flower cycle??i would think that if that was the case why cut clones in that cycle ?

i have 6 fems in a 5x3ft area with 1000w hps aero dwc grow
oh and by the way "Now next time plan ahead to the blooming cycle"i did plan ahead but they were'nt showing sex so stinky told me to wait to show sex and it was heading into the 8th week of veg with no sign of sex thats why i waited so long.but i doubt takin 3 fan leafs per plant is gonna hurt anything as theres tons of them left i will use the closepins to weigh them down though thanks for the info

Any unwanted stress can lead to hermies , Most ppl. take cuttings while plants are in veg. - also as a gen. rule plants will dbl. if not triple in size during flowering . 6 plants in a 3 x 5 is way tight esp. w/ em that tall . Maybe work from clones and cut the light cycle to 12/12 sooner next time .
I don't ever wait for plants to show sex before flipping them ? The light cycle chg. will do it for you in 14 days or less .

1000w 3 x 5 x 8 = 1 - 5 gal. bucket , and 1 fem. plant in my world = about 8-12 oz w/ some topping -n- training .

well i wanted to find sex so i could find a good mother and then grow the rest as i did'nt want to flower to show sex then back to veg like sum do that stresses them but it did'nt work out that way so i started in another closed off area a mother so it's all good now but now i just have to deal with what i have so i guess i'll just have to keep bending them down. and u think 6 plants is way to much for that area lol thats nothing i started out with 16 plants and 3 watermelon,2peppers,2 carrots,2 lettuce i grew them all for a month under 1400w mh and them moved them outside and the other plants sum were males and the others i moved.

1000w 3 x 5 x 8 = 1 - 5 gal. bucket , and 1 fem. plant in my world = about 8-12 oz w/ some topping -n- training. and with my plants the way there looking im lookin at 2 or 3 p

I have a hell ofa lot more room to play w/ than you currently do , but my last grow was 2 - 5 gal. buckets under a single 1000w. hps -n- got 34 ounces .

no i remember someone was asking a ? about cloning and when to do it and stinky said "don't tell anyone but i take most of my cuttings in flower"i can't remember what thread but i do remember her saying most on here would say diffrent but she does it during the flower stage
