I need help, my plant are growing out of control and i dont know what to do two of them are REALLY tall and taking up all the light and room with thier hieght and long arms EVERYWHERE. What do i do .... Also do mulit-spec light work with growing??

plants are growing tall because no light, it takes about 50 watt per square foot.
Florsents 23 watters take at least TWO (2) new ones per square foot. The reason I said new was the output of florsent go down real fast. Trim the tops off and get some hp bulbs or 10 more florsents. and keep them just 2-3 inchs above the tops of the plants. Note electronic florsent blubs suck watts. if you want to use florsents use 4 ft full service ballast and full service bulbs. Even then keep the bulb 2-3 inchs abover the plants.

also do you know what strain your plants are. or even if there indica or stavia?

More light is needed. Looks like you have stretch if they are in veg.

I use spirals as well. I have 8 in my homemade hood and these are only 100 watt equivs. plus 2 2' floros. (removed some for my clones - for anyone who remembers)

If in veg you could also top emm. count down 3 nodes from the top cola and do a typical clone. Some people dont agree with this but it works if space is needed. I know alot of professional growers take there clones from the top of there plants instead of the lower branches. Like I said I know someone is going to say something about doing this cause I was told not to but others have had good success doing it. I don't know all depends on who you talk to.

How big is the space you are growing in? L x W x H

oldsanclem 30 - 50 watts works. you don't always have to have 50 watts. for bigger better buds yeah but if your starting and don't have the money that isn't entirely needed. You can never have enough light for the babies. There light pigs.

another thing is when you add more light they will hit there sweet spot and stop there. LST is an idea as what norkali said. How ever being as high as they are that would depend onhow much space you have left to work with. Are all these female? or are these seeds that were planted and you are waiting on the sex?

BUT over all more light is needed.

Identify then ty them girls down lower light and you are back in bussiness,also increase amount of light if possible

they arent really stretching, i think theyre just loving yor lights. however, for suck a relatively intensive setup, why did you not use an hps bulb?

Get this stuff called training wire and you can train them to grow wider and outward. Another thing is that silver reflective stuff, just like mirrors and tinfoil, actually absorb more light than they reflect. White material is always best.

They are 8 days into flower, 3 bubblicious, 2bb and 1 skunk, vegged about 8-9 weeks no sex yet. 4-105w 1-85w and 2 23w = about 34,800 lumenets. All from seed in a 6ftx5ftx5ft room.

I will be buying 8-23w warm white cfls, I will order 3 85w warm whites when i get some cash, so this should tide me over till then. I tied down the 2 tall ones and within 3 hours they where pointing back up.

At this point i wish i had used cfls, i though and read it was the cheaper way to go, but at this point i have spent close to $1k on everything, when i purchase these clfs i will be will over. I will have some cash the beginning of January and i will definately be finishing with a 400 or 600w hps..... But thank the LST is working well at this point and i will get those 8 23watters this week end, now i need to see how i going to set them up.

I have read that toping in flower is bad and effect your yeild and quality... is that true??

yes. its gonna stop the main cola growth for at least a week or more till it heals.

however, you say you are at 9 weeks veg? if so, that would explain the size. usually flowering is started by 6 weeks or less

But will the longer veg increase the yield, with alot more light of course??

It can but it's gonna take alot more light to do it my first grow I just finished I went the route of more veg more bud and it is not necisarily true it takes a lot of light to penetrate, and without light from all sides the more potential budsites are starved for light by higher bud sites and it just isn't really worth it. Indoor it's pretty hard to handle huge plants and impossible IMO with cfl, or at least have it pay off.

Topping will only stop the upward growth temp. then it will make 2 branches and continue up.

I would bend the top over and tie it to the stalk. u wont have ur big boy kola, but u wont be growing upwards anymore..
