my last two harvest ive had, after i cut down my plants i put them in my closet to dry,now they turn crispy in two days and taste like grass and chloraphil(sorry for the spelling) im thinking because its vegas theres no humidity in the air.So my question is when i go down to buy a humidifier,how much hum. do i want in the room,do i want a fan for air flow,and if i keep the room filled with humidity will my product ever dry or will it stay wet.I've heard that you want the stem to snap,knowing that it is ready.i'm just tired of wasting all this time for a product that has no flavor or taste.please help, thank you p.s . i just want the buds to be squishy and fresh.

That's because the drying is only the first step.
Hang them in a cool dark airy place until the small bud stems snap when bent.
Then remove all the buds from the stems and place them in a glass jar with a tight lid.
Every day, open the jar and feel the buds. They will feel more moist than they did when you closed the jar. Leave the jar open for half an hour, then close it again.
Repeat until you cannot feel a difference in moisture from day to day.
Then seal tightly and put in a cool dark place for 2 or more weeks.
This is called curing, and you have to do it, or your buds will be harsh. Dehumidifier is unnecessary.

wonderfull, thankyou but answer me this please im still a little confused .When i hang them up in a dark room, it is crispy,and i mean crispy almost the next day.Shouldnt it take at least 6 or 7. and im wondering about the humidifier not a dehumidifier because i bought a thermo.and it said i had 9 or 10 percent humidity in the room at 85,dont i need to raise it uo to 60 or 70 percent.thankyou sooooo much for your answers

If it only takes one day, then jar them up after the end of that day and follow the rest of the procedure as normal.

alright,that seems easy enough.Thank you.JUst one more question on my first harvest that i did with my blueberry,i hung it up to dry after 4 days i put it in a light proof jar,and (burped) the jar at least once a day and the buds stayed in there for about a week and a half and it still tasted like grass clippings even after i had it in the jar.It wasent sticky or sweet and im talking bluberry ,when it was growing you could smell it just by wisping by the leafs.IM definitly going to take your advice and try it again,but if you come up with any ideas please let me know.I've even tried to put peices of orange peel(wich i would be really upset if some did that to my sac).inside but nothing.So im going to try to raise the humidity hoping that the flavor will remain in the buds instead of drying out so quick and loosing its taste.You know theres so little to my harvest that its really not a big lose if i ruin them but i definetly need to try something diffrent to preserve that tase.

oh yeah theres something else i would like to ask you.when my plants are growing the buds on them are extremely tight and really compact,but once again when i hang them up to dry they turn out extremely airy and not dense what so ever.So i guess my question is why dont my buds stay dense.i've smoked blueberry before and its normally very dense you know being indica and everything.tHANKYOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND WISDOM.

They lose weight and a dense feeling during drying; it's natural- but bud grown under flouros won't ever be as dense as bud grown under HPS lighting. Even outdoor plants grow larger, fluffier buds than individuals of the same strain grown indoors.

so your saying that basically if i want tight dense nugs that it all depends on growing medeiums ,light, and genetics. Im growing under a 400 hps so i should be good as far as the light to densness ratio,there not far from the top of the canopy,maybe 4 or 5 inches.Is that to close?

At this point for you the only option is to switch the strain, everything else you're doing is normal. You could also look into this product called Gravity from Humboldt. I'm skeptical but others swear by it.

IVE HEARD ABOUT THE PRODUCT GRAVITY BEFORE AND I WILL CHECK IN TO THAT,BUT YOU SEE IVE HAD BLUEBERRY,BUBBLELICIOUS AND SOME UNKNOWN AND THEY ALL CAME OUT TASTING AND NOT STAYING DENSE AS THE NEXT ONE.

hey sorry to pest but something else popped up in my mind.How long after you are drying do yu cut the fan leaves off.I mean when is the best time,ive heard diffrent opinions about it but nothing conclusive.
