Issues with transplanting large plants into bubbler?

Hey guys.

I have my bubblers here in a few days now and my plan is to transplant seed bred WWs into them to get out of my insane handwater schedule I need to keep now when growing in handwatered coco.

I have talked with plenty of people doing these kinds of transplants but come to think about it they all grew from clones.
So, are there any issues transplanting plants that have been vegged to quite sturdy plants into a bubbler? I mean these are gonna be big ladies with a LOT of rootmass I suspect.
It is a pod system with 8 pods of each 28 litres (almost 9 US gallons) so I should be ok in that respect, right?

Any other problems that might arise except the obvious one of getting the roots through the pots?

I'd definitely try taking clones and starting the CLONES in the bubbler. You will have a hard time getting the rootball transferred without damage, and the coco will make a mess of the inside of your system. That's not to mention the stress to the plant (and you haha). Definitely get some cuttings rooted and start things off nice and fresh and clean.

Well I was gonna clean the coco from the roots was the plan. Get them out of the medium and into netpots was the plan. Thats how the guys I talked to did it anyway.

I agree with Stinky..... but if you insist on doing it anyway.....after you clean everything up as far as the roots are concerned, you will have major problems unless you cut the top back. In other words give the plant less to feed since the root damage. It will take a while, but it will recuperate.

Thanks and yes I know. This will be a bit traumatic for them surelly but handwatering every 12 hours is becoming back breaking and since my back is already broken and I am in wheelchair I kinda want a less work intense setup.

I will start with one, my least favoured plant (thay are all beautiful and almost perfect tbh but I can still rate them) and see how it goes. If it goes smooth I'll go on with the others and if not I transplant into bigger pots with coco.
I am also a bit interested in doing this for research reasons. Will be interesting to see just how roots spread in the medium and how stress sensitive these plants are.
I have clones from all of them and one of those clones or two will become the mother of all my future WWs so a bit of a stress test will maybe sort the bad ones out.

I will keep you informed.

Any other tips concerning practically how to do this transplant in the best way?

Cheers
Puffzter
