LOL just a quick story that may amuse my fellow water warriors; H20 horticulturists, and general lovers of the Hydroponic Chronic.
My best friend, (also the only person besides me and my roomie who know about the grow, mainly because I trust him and he grew for years and I saw all of it, only stopped cuz he has children now), came by when I first started growing and immediately eschewed my choice to go hydro. I heard the whole thing about there being such a huge differance between hydro and organic soil, only commercial pirate growers do hydro, and yield is increased, but potency and taste quality all take such an immense hit that hydro bud is unsmokable. He took one bong rip of c99xbb and spit it out, whining about the "chemical aftertaste" and harshness. NOBODY who has smoked my herb has ever had anything remotely bad to say about my herb, it's usually quite the opposite. Well the other day, he stopped in (hes not around as much these days with 2 young kids and 2 jobs). He hit my bong and said.. "MMM, where did u get this?" I said it was mine. He remarked, "you switched to soil didn't you....I can tell!!" to which I replied..without missing a beat...."Organic baby!! the only way to grow!!" He went on about how he could taste all the natural flavors, and how fruity it was. "you could never get this bud to taste like this in hydro, no matter how long you flush!!" I continued to let him hang himself for about 10 minutes then brought him to see my setup....dwc tubs of GH Flora nutes at 1200 ppm. Let the backpedaling begin!! His face turned redder than an apple as he stammered about how he can now taste the aftertaste. Now I am not saying there are not any subtle differences between hydro and organic soil (YIELD lol), but most people who exclaim that hydro is unsmokable are just talking out their collective.......well SOIL!

If my best friend spit my dank out he would get switched out for the brownest mower deck weed I could find. lol Let him puff on that shit 1 time and then ur shit is the best ever. But seriously, a few people have told me that same thing but you would have to do a run of the same plant(clone) then grow them with the same exact conditions to be able to say for sure. My buddy that I got my clones from grows soil and mine (dro)tasted better than his, even though I fucked it up really bad and it did have a nute after taste. I guess he fucked his up worse. lol It just depends on too many variables to say.

same here. my friend doesn't argue soil over 'dro though. my 2nd run of a strain (we call it #6) we both grew out had bigger buds than his 1st run of the opium strain. #6 was just bagseed, but hell, it could've been a commercially bred strain. still very proud of that. too bad that now he has a 600W HPS compared to my dozen CFLs...

I got the other end. If I run full nutes right to the end my peeps love the strong dank taste. They love it. I like a good flush and the long cure to mellow out. The last I flushed too long same high and they wanted to know what I did wrong. It was very mellow. They didn't see much. LOL
