Few Questions

I was wondering what type of PH Down people use for there hydroponics, systems.

I have been using Spa Guard PH Balancer, which keeps my water PH stablized.

However I am thinking that using this Spa Guard to balance my water, may mess up my plants. I have been using it for a while, plants seem to grow great in the veg state, but when I use it in my flowering room, my plants seem to do poorly.

I use Flora grow, Micro, and Bloom

I use the Lucas Formula Grow-Micro-Bloom
veg 18/6 0-5-10 ml per Gallon
Flowering 12/12 0-8-16

I understand that these products that I use does something to the PH.

I would love to get another product to use as far as PH down is concerned, and reccomendations.

Also I was wondering, the week that you flush your flowering plants with stable water, right before you harvest, can you put the lights on 6 on and 18 off. My friend said it will freak the plants out and make the bud stronger. He also said that turning the lights on that cycle, will not make my plant turn hermy, or mess it up, considering it is the last week before I harvest.

Is the 6 on 18 off True??

PH Down Products???

Thanks

I am suspect of pool chemicals ... just go to any local nursery, or hydroponic store, if you're lucky enough to have one ... the stuff I buy, is labeled by General Hydroponics, nothing fancy ... light schedule doesn't mean much the last few days ... your friend's advice is widely repeated, but not really true, more of an urban legend, in my humble opinion ...

It's also said to leave complete dark the last 3 days. No truth or proof to either one. As for the spa ph reaper is right , much more chem's than you want. I have been around pools and maintanace enough to know. You can get ph up and down where you get the nutes. If not the comercial greenhouses use sulfuric acid, that's right battery acid and it works good but just a drop goes a long way. You can get at auto shops.

The lucas formula is 1 part micro 2 parts bloom. Then adjust the ppm's for the stage of the plants life. No grow in the lucas and that would make 5-10-9. Easy to follow and no need for gro part. The nutes have ph buffers in then for stability.

FloraGro
2-1-6
FloraBloom
0-5-4
FloraMicro
5-0-1

OK

So would it be accurate, to mix my nutrients as so:

Vegitative at 50% strength I would mix 2.5 ml per gallon of micro, and 5 ml per gallon of bloom.

Vegitative at 100% I would mix 5 ml per gallon micro, and 10 ml per gallon of bloom.

Flowering at 50% I would mix 4 ml per gallon micro, and 8 ml per gallon bloom.

Flowering at 100% I would mix 8 ml per gallon micro, and 16 ml per gallon bloom.

Using none of the Flora Grow, and only using the Micro and Bloom.

phosphoric acid (ph down) and potassium sillicate (ph up)

stick to those, they're the best
