HI guys whots up just a few questions here. iv started a grow under 2 strip lights now there getting bigger and the leaves are getting larger i want to get a proper lighting system for my little babys.i want a hrydrophonics system but i need to no witch 1 2 get.
1. do you need multie sprectrum for flowering?
2.whot is the differnce between high pressuse sodium and metal halide?
3.do you use high pressure sodium for growing and metal halide for flowering?
any help would help me so mutch thanks for your time

Glad to hear you're starting into the wonderful world of growing. Please remember one thing in your venture...Your security is the most important thing you have, so protect it. With that being said...here are the answer to your questions:

1. No, you don't need multi-spectrum for flowering. Ideally, you want Metal Halide for the veg. stage and HPS or High Pressure Sodium for Flowering.
2. The difference in the two is the spectrum...MH puts out a more blue spectrum which the plants need for optimal vegetative growth and HPS puts out a more red spectrum which is most optimal for the flowering stage.
3. Answered in 1 + 2.

As far as getting a good hydro system...You can buy ready made systems or there are plenty of resources on the net to build your own good system...Just do a lot of research and you'll then have the knowledge to choose which system would best work for your particular needs...

Everything skunky said is true. you. If this is your first grow of mj, Zandor always recommends to grow a few in soil so at least if you screw up your hydro plants, you'll still have someting to smoke. This is my first grow of mj and I am posting under gen's grow. I'm doing 5 dirt and 5 hydro.

So what you're doing right now is fine. Keep the fluoros close to the tops of your plants. 1-2 inches away. Your'e in vegetative stage. Depending how much room and lights you have will determine what you end up with. You will need to sex those seedlings and prevent the males from pollinating the females. And keep on moving the lights to prevent the leaves from touching the light since they will burn. I like you light spacer, Foster beer can.
