Are these Roots Moldy?

I have some plants in a drip system and I have been using floralicious and dyna grow. I started flowering a few days ago. Before i started flowering the plants were drooping so i cut back the time that the water pump was running. soon after the plants looked healthy again, but today i lifted the lid to the system and these weird pointy, mossy looking roots were coming out of all the plants root zones. i will post a pic. Should I stop the grow or bear with it considering i am so far in. Also the plants look healthy and the roots do not smell bad and are not slimy.

They are searching for water and nutrients. Before you gave them what they were looking for up close and personal. Now you have back off on your water and they are looking for more so that is what the roots are doing. Growing and looking for more water and nutrients.

Is that a good thing should i keep the water cycle what it is now which is about 15 minutes every 2 hours, or should i turn it back on to 24/7?

It's a good thing, by searching for water and nutrients it'll make the roots strong and able to support big buds

Mine have the same.

But there is a balance between looking and finding. They may be able to drink more but it it's not available to them what good will it do?

Kick it up a bit....i bet later on you will need 15 on 45 off to keep up with them.

I agree.....

In addition, roots that are hanging in the air.. can handle (and appreciate) water being sprayed on them continuously while the LIGHTS ARE ON.

hey RZ...

FYI - what causes root rot is warm water (over 75 farenheit) and lack of oxygen to the roots.. When you start to get root rot, your roots will be very very slimy and brown and they will break easy when you touch them..

You should keep all dead matter out of your reservoir... dead matter consumes valuable O2.

You may even consider sumplementing your reservoir with Hydrogen Peroxide once every 7-14 days..

Air stones in the reservoir also help tremendously with root growth..
Especially if your roots eventually go into your reservoir..

: )
cheers

I think they look great, continue doing what you are doing.

Be careful with H2O2. If things are going well then i would avoid it. It will kill the good and the bad bacteria. Killing the good bacteria is bad. Basically, if you can get a good culture of bacteria growing in a bucket or whatever you use, everything else is easy and self sustaining.
