Ms. W starting over - building new hydro system

My last thread "Pc Planter" has me returning the system and starting from scratch. Need Help.

Have feminized seeds: white widow, cinnamon, grapefruit and Ice (also generic seeds for first run)

will Buy:
Hydrohut - mini (39"x39" wide by 6.5' tall) from BGH as a cabinet set up.

400 HPS EconoCool Grow light (rep said I could use HPS start to finish; it is a self-cooling light)

Eco grower 6 pot drip hydro set up (17 gallon res, 6" net pots, nutrients)

Ona Block for odor (the rep suggested a serious carbon filter and fan but cost too high)

Timer

ph tester (ph-up/down)

Questions: Do I need exhaust fans since the light has it's own cooling? Do I need a fan blowing on the plants?

Hey Ms. W,

The exhaust fan... would be good... for temperature control... or you'll bake the girls...

And the fna blowing on the plants, will help. Not a *necessity*, but airflow around the plants always helps.

Have a good one! (a la Torog! )

Hey Ms.w

I cant wait to see your grow in your hydro hut, they look pretty fascinating.

Are you an experienced grower or only have 1-2 under the belt?

First time. With the help of this site I am feeling fairly confident that I can get this together. The hut is a good answer for those of us who don't want or don't feel adept at making our own cabinet.

great choice...to stimulate the plants and to strengthen stems you should always have a small recirulating fan in any room/box.

How does the light you bought cool itself?

Is this the light you are buying?http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/customkit...HLHPS04SEC&eq=

You realize that light needs fans on both ends of that enclosed hood in order to cool, don't you?

or, did you buy fans to go with it?

one more question about how you plan to grow. Are you going to be able to leave hut door open or will you have to keep it closed all the time. this makes a big difference in how you handle high temps...at least at 1st

LW??

If you were to use two Super Sun II 1000 HPS, would you think a 6" Fantec fan on one end blowing fresh air in, and another Fantec 6" on the end of the second light sucking the air out do the job ? There will only be about a 10" piece of insulated duct between my 2 fans together to keep air moving. I spend another 600 on two more fans and the ole lady is going to come unglued I think.

I would think that those two 6" Fantechs would cool phenominaly well the 1000HPS. I believe this is the setup latewood has/wants (I think).

As to spending the $600 on two more fans... and the lady...

Damn dude... I've been there.... I understand you P E R F E C T L Y .

Peace

good question...I don't know thatone...It sounds good, but I have never run 2 1000w hid's inline. All you can do is try, and if you have a weak draw...add a cheaper booster fan...lw

latewood: Yes, that is the light. The rep is suggesting that I buy an exhaust fan that will remove heat (attach a carbon filter at the end for odor) and two small clip on fans to cool fan at either side. I will keep it closed.
