ok i have made up my mind im going to do this next one hydro. i have been seeing alot of these waterfarms in peoples pics?? are they good and do you use the mesh pots or can you just use the rockwool right in the waterfarm? also i saw a good video on how to build a drip sys. and an ebb an flow system looks so simple. was trying to make up my mind.

If you want simplicity...ebb and flow. or a bubbler.
drip is best..that the method professional tomato and pepper farmer's use.

best to use netpots with hydroton...easiest medium to use. Imho.

Waterfarm's are real nice. you really can't beat them for the money, either.

i run the waterfarms, i find them pretty simple to use, i set all my buddys up w. them, get ur babys started in rockwool let them get about 2 inches tall then transplant them into your hydroton inside your waterfarm, then sit back and relax and just add water/nutrients. :-)

If I weren't loaded however, and it were my first grow, I would build a home made DWC system similar to an Emily's Garden set up. The results are tremendous considering the small amount of effort required. Hell, they're tremendous regardless.

The cheapest and effective hydro system is a DWC setup. You take a 4-5 gallon bucket, add water, an airstone, a $7 fishtank airpump, and nutes.

The whole project literally could cost you nothing if you have that stuff lying around. A trip to walmart for everything needed would cost less then $16 or so a bucket. (Or you could use those 10-15 gallon rubber maid tubs)

Well said Relic, but for just a little more money you could do something like 3 or 6 plants in one container.
