I have made a system includes a 10 gal res in it contains a heat pump designed for up to 10 gal of water, air stone and a 200 gph pump. Connected to the pump is 1/2" tbing that feeds up to an elbo I made which attaches to the hard plastic tube you see laying over the plant containers. To the other side of that tube I have 1/4 poly tubing stuck inside which hangs back down into the res recycling the water. In the tube that lays over the pots I have hole punched and inserted two spray nozzels directly over the the pots. I have stretched some knee highs around the pots to prevent the medium from escaping into the res. I use 1/2 and 1/2 perlite/vermiculite. What I am concerned with is the pressure in which the nozzels are despensing the water. They really let out a pretty good force of water. I would have to guess that if you were to just put one of the nozzels over a gallon size bucket it would be able to fill it in probably 20 minutes or so. That seems to much for a nozzel that is so tiny. I started these in soil then transplanted but as you can see they are not looking to good. As you can see also, is that I am not using a huge light. Basically I am experimenting to get a better grip on growing this way before I drop some cash on some good beans. The light is probably just enough to keep them alive while I try to decide what nutes I want to buy and a feeding schedule of some sorts. I do have a ph tester but I am not sure of its accuracy. I keep the temps pretty constant in the grow room probably mid 70s 24/7. The water feels very nice not cold not hot just right. What do you all think about this type setup. Regarding the force the water is hitting the plants is it to much, should it be like a faucet leak? What elements do you think these babies need to revive them?

looks good for a start ,
i'd invest in some hydroton as a grow medium tho . and i'd look on the internet somewhere for a lower gal.per hr. drippers . or a way of slowing the pump down .

One thing I do is use a water pump with 1/2"tubing, which ends with a 1/2" shut off valve that I leave partly closed. This allows me to regulate the amount of water I'm running to the 1/4" drip tube that I'm branching off right before the valve. The water escaping the 1/2" valve simply serves to "stir" my res in the meantime

Did that make sense?


Oh, and I would say you need nitrogen just based on the severe yellowing.
