So atm on a freinds reccomendations i am growing some Hindu Kush, with the intention of using it to help me sleep.

Could anybody reccomend any other strains that are good for insomnia?

Indicas - Afghan, kush's, hashplant, romulan, NL - try and look for landrace strains. [Pure indicas]

and ignore DaChi - thats the second post i've seen by him that is useless CRAP and he's only got 28 over all.

Yeah, but they asked for strains. You're right though, those purples are heavy body stone indicas, but it was abit vague.

Master kush should be perfect for insomnia. If not that, I'd say northern lights.

My room mate has the same problem and the last time I had some northern lights he slept like 10 hours through.

Serious Seed's AK47 and White Russian, Sensi Seed's White Label Sensi Star, Legend's Ultimate Indica, Nirvana's White Rhino and something called Sudden Impact (Hashplant x G13) AK47 if you can find it.

Bluegrass Seeds sold Sudden Impact but the strain is hard to find.
If you breed....I'm sure it could be reproduced with some strong work over a few years ....if you have that kind of desire.


These are the most powerful meds I've had.

I suggest any of these.

Plan B's Black Indica is good.

I'm not surprised that someone jumped on that statement about purps. We've had a history of people posting stuff like 'bud is good BECAUSE it's purple', or 'BECAUSE it's 'dro'', while the color or grow method aren't as important as the actual strain and care taken in finishing and curing the product.
Many purple strains really sucked, because they were being bred solely to give that colorful bud that The Yeag used to call 'nOOb candy' because inexperienced smokers equated bag appeal with quality.
Luckily the modern purples are improving DRASTICALLY.

For sleeping, I'd recommend indicas, mostly types of kush, white widow, or anything else that you can get your hands on.

while i would almost disagree with white widow since its such a strong sativa, i have to agree. It can really make me fall asleep in less than 2 minutes if i try to sleep while on it. whereas most sativas keep me awake.
Grand daddy purple i had trouble sleeping on, it is a mix so i think you would be better off with kush's and other indica dominant strains. I think all the big name brands for sleeping have been mentioned.

why do you have to rag on the guy for trying to HELP? so he was a bit vague, its up to the person he was directing the comment towards to take that comment as useless or if its useful. even if he does have a history of saying dumb shit, that does not matter, because the simple fact is hes trying to help, and id rather he TRIED and was wrong or rather misunderstood then keep his comments to himself. its what were here for, to help one another. As much as i like to think i know it all, i dont, and i have never said once that i do. I dont claim to know everything about cannabis [i dont, nor do i know everything about strains OR growing] but if people want to think that, they can. Thats their decision.

I post what i like, and what i think. If i dont like someone, i'll post it. If i think someone is a c*nt, i'll post it - because i can.

What really gets me pissed off, is when people give advice on the simple basics - such as strains and STILL get it wrong! BASICS! If they dont even know the basics of weed, they shouldnt be smoking it. A little research goes along way. I'm ALL for helping people, but getting them to go and read for themselves is better. If they read and learn about it, and still dont understand something, im more than happy to help, if i can. But i dont see why we should do the work for someone else. All the info is only a google away. It's not hard to inform yourself.

I was abit harsh on dachi, i admit that, although another post of his i saw which was useless probably contributed somewhat to the posts in this thread.
