Cool General Hydroponics

Has anyone ever used floragrow and florabloom by general hydroponics? I am a first time grower and my seedlings are 8 days old today. I'm not going to feed them any nutes for about another week but the roots started showing out of the bottom of the rockwool last night. I wanted to know what your opinions are for floragrow/bloom on my babies.

I am currently trying both the Flora Nova Grow and Bloom on this grow. They just switched into flowering a couple weeks ago and have just started applying the Bloom once a week. So far so good. We five big 4 footers in Fox Farms soil under 2 600w HPS. I know there was a little nute burn problem with the Grow, but I think it was more the combo of FF soil and the nutes that did it. They seem to be a very good nute system and I had heard good things about them. But I can't be sure until the buds are done.

Do not feed your seedlings with nutes until they have 3 or 4 set of leaves. They only need pH correct tap water. The first set of leaves that came from the sprout contain enough nutrients to sustain the plant until then.

I can't compare them to any other system, because I have never used any other nutrients, however I have used Flora-Nova Grow & Bloom for one grow with very good results. I was especially happy since it was a bagseed grow with quite a wide variety of plants - all of which were perfectly happy all the way through. Sometimes PH was checked and corrected, and sometimes it was ignored for weeks at a time. No problems.

I am planning to switch back from soil to hydro again soon, and plan to use the Flora-Nova nutrients again because I have had experience using them and they worked with no surprises.

I can recommend them for a first time grow because flora-nova is dead simple: just follow the instructions on the back of the bottles (IE how many teaspoons per gallon for each stage of growth) and you should have results that you will be very happy with.

General Hydroponics Growing

If I wanted to grow some basic vegetables - general legal stuff - using hydroponics I'd probably consider GH. But for something worth doing well I'd set my sights a bit higher. High value crops deserve high value nutrients, you know?

I grow my vegetables outside in the dirt where it's cheap and my MJ inside with hydroponics and it takes more than "general" nutes to satisfy me and my girls. I've found that Advanced Nutrients works best for me so that's what I recommend. YMMV.

Call me crazy but if I'm going to grow some dank I want to go with hydroponic nutrients that are made by someone that considers themselves more "advanced" than "general".
