Broken baby plant!

Today I found one plant leaning over against the side of the pot. Its about 3" tall and the problem is very weird. The stem is not broken, but the bottom 1/2" of stem(or so what I thought was stem) is extremely thin and a darker color then the rest of the stem. It's probably around 1/3 of the diameter of the main stem. Temporarily I mounded the dirt around it to prop the plant up but now I am afraid I may be smothering it.

Could this have been caused by it stretching to the light? Any ideas? Can she survive? Ill snap a pic. This was my first plant ever to seed/sprout and I'd like to keep her(hopefully a her) living.

edit: the plant is 6 days into sprouting from dirt and a bag/papertowel germination.

if nothing is broken and you prop it up and give it stronger light you should be ok. remember if you use a cfl or flouro you should keep that like about 2-3 inches from the top of it. after it can stand by its own you should put a very light breeze on it to make it stronger. not a strong breeze right now. anyways you should already have a fan in there circulating the stale air around?!? lets see a pic tho. and yes it probably is streched

Ill try and get a pic tomorrow. If I take a picture now it will just look like a normal pot plant because its filled up with dirt higher along the stem to prop it up.

Edit: I just put 2 + 2 together and it definitely makes sense that it was stretched out.
Look at picture one that was the plant in location #1 and I definitely feel I had the lights too far up. It was a small aquarium light and a small desk lamp. It also looks stretched in the picture.

Anyone have experience with stretched out plants?

Sounds like fusarium wilt to me. I would segregate the plant to keep the disease from spreading or get rid of it. It may not be this disease, but that is what it sounds like to me. Sorry to hear the bad news. Don't let it spread to the others! good luck.

Listen to Lola

Isolate, but sometimes they will pull through. If it's stressed out too much it won't produce anyways so don't waste your time unless it's the last of a keeper strain.

Ive seen things like that before. Mostly a result of over watering. I would remove the dirt from around it and give more light like homeboy said and less water. I say 90% chance its already past the point of no return. Go get more seeds already.
