Looking good!

Glad to see you've got your temps dialed in, better ventilation, etc. That will really help over the course of this grow and any future grows. Keep it up!

pics

new pics.

OK so the Himalaya Gold is doing good, growth is steady and they all have lost that ugly yellow color from before and changed to a nice healthy green. There's some curling in the leaves which i believe is from heat issues. Even with these vents it still is a problem, especially with summer rolling around. Highest temp i've had is 85, not good. But nothing life threatening for them as far as i can tell. You can see this most clearly in the second pic, lemme know your thoughts about it.

The church babies have sprouted up and are looking nice so far, hope that keeps up. So far there are 8 visible and one that i'm not too sure is doing anything and one seed didnt crack.

Garden update

Hello my fellow stoners and growers

So today i did some much needed shopping I've ordered the complete Hesi Nutrition starter pack, a 125mm 300 mł/h Carbon Filter, 4m ventilation tubing, and last but not least 2 Cool-Reflector Hoods.

The hoods are a closed setup with the bulb behind a plate of glass similar to a cooltube. There are exhaust holes on top which i'll be connecting to the exhaust vents. Hopefully these working together with the ventilation system will get rid of ANY heat issues i have.

So with all this i should be more or less done with any shopping i may need to do for this project which makes me more happy than you could ever know. I've built up quite a price tag on all this stuff i have so it feels great to not have to lay out any more money for a while. But the rewards will be more than worth it

They should be getting here next week hopefully, i'll keep you posted.

Heres some more pics of my garden before it undergoes the upgrade next week. I'm starting to like how they're beginning to look alot these days. Just gets better and better

OK guys heres some new pics of the girls. The little ones are growing good, no problems there. They got a little stressed the other day from heat. It was the first time i tried leaving them at home all day with the closet door shut.....not good. Temps got way way too high so i wont be doing that until my package arrives. Other than some minor leaf curling from the heat and they just keep looking better and better, but hey...maybe i'm just picky

Still waiting to get my package so i can set up the cool reflectors and tubing and such. I'm thinking thats gonna help alot once i get it all running. I should be able to put the lights WAY closer to the babies without having to worry about heat which has been a big issue. But then again i've been thinking about the room i'm using and it has alot more height than it does width so maybe taller plants instead of bushy ones will be better.

PACKAGE HAS ARRIVED

Finally got the package with the carbon filter, hoods, vent tubing, and nutrients. Just got done setting it all up and i'm liking it.

I'm not too sure if i connected the vent tubes right. I just used duct tape as well as i could and i dont think its air tight. Does anyone know a good way to connect tubing to the hoods in a way that would make them air tight? check out the pics and see.

not bad! to fix the gaps in the vent i'd just get some saran wrap and if you can get ur hands on a (hot) blow dryer, seal the wrap around the openings. probably no the most effective solution, but its a solution none the less. Good Luck!

its cool i found a great solution. I found a roll of electrical tape lying around and tried it. Works great!! Its nice because its alot more stretchy than duct tape so i could really get it into the curves of the tubing

hey guys just something i was wondering about. On some of the babies the new growth is kinda curly. Anyone know why this may be?

Other than that things are moving forward. I've started with nutrients at 1/2 of the recommended dose to start with. The curling in the leaves was there before i started feeding them so i dont think thats it.

Check the pic to see the curling i'm talking about.

Plants look great! Last pic, plant on bottom left, make sure you check the underside of the leaves for critters.. could be my failing eyes but looks like some spotting. May be nutes but check just to make sure. Also, you are going to need clamps to connect that tubing to the lights . Duct tape does not hold up well to heat. Clamps are cheap and effective.

One more thing Newmangreen. Your temp gauge, temp isn't skewed from the sensor hanging over the hood is it?

Yes i've noticed these spots as well. There are no critters though that i'm sure of. I make a habit of checking daily for such things. I really dont know what thats from....but until the others start getting these spots i'm not going to worry too much about it.

Yeah i really need those clamps. Do you mean the metal ones that you tighten with a screwdriver? The tape tends to work well for a day or two then comes undone

Well i've started giving them nutes at 1/2 of recommended dose and i dont see any negative effects of that so i'll be continuing with that.

Happy smoking

hey there. Ummmm i really dont think so. I have the actual probe hanging around the top of the plants to get the most accurate temp possible and the gauge up on a shelf to get the ambient temp. Both of which are still too high

Sorry bout your temp issue.. can be tough to dial in for sure. And yes, the clamps you tighten with a screwdriver is what you need. only a couple bucks a set.

Yeah heat is still not as it should be. I have that exhaust fan connected to the reflectors but that small room heats up really quick now that i use both lights...just think how bad it would be if i didnt have the reflectors or vents. That has by far been the most costly of everything here...

I couldnt find those cable clamp things anywhere in this town at the right size i needed. They were all too small or way too big. Instead i bought some heavy duty zip-ties and wrapped those guys around as tight as humanly possible Those tubes arent going anywhere

I also cut the lights down from 24/h to 18/6 because of this heat issue and also that i dont want to stress the plants anymore than they have been as i will start flowering not too far from now. It should save me some cash on the electric bill as well.

I dont really see any negative effects from the nutes i gave them the other day but maybe its too early to tell. I'll keep a close eye on things and if nothing bad happens i'll keep feeding them like i've been doing.

Happy Smoking,
Newman

PICS

Hello guys and gals

OK so here's everything you missed the last week:

As i said before, i started giving them small doses of nutes....well apparently not small enough. On some of them, the bottom leaves started turning yellow and getting spots. Shortly after that the leaves would die and fall off. I quickly flushed them as soon as i noticed this. They seem to be stable at the moment and improving so thats good, and i've learned a good lesson about those nutes.

Once again i didnt plan ahead good enough and forgot to buy some things. I bought that bag of soil a while ago and never thought "Hey, after i transplant into bigger pots i'm going to need more soil." Oops I had enough to transplant 4 of them so thats what i did and i transplanted the biggest of the babies. I'll be getting the soil this week or at the latest monday or tuesday.

I've been seeing pre-buds forming on many of the babies Finally i'm seeing some progress here. I really love the big fat leaves that are there now. They must be 2 inches across!! I'm going to start flowering after i finish installing the carbon filter and transplanting the other babies. I know the very small babies are not at all ready to bud but i dont really have a choice. It should be very interesting seeing such small plants produce buds.

There are some pics where you can see the damage done by the nutrients. But for the most part they look good. Some plants got hit harder than others though

QUESTION

Hey guys i need kind of a quick answer.

My ventilation system is quite loud....very loud. So loud that it may be worth investing in a silencer or muffler.

I need to know how good these "silencers" work.

Nordic Grow AB - Ljuddämpare för fläkt 125mm

They're not that cheap so i dont want to buy it if it's not going to work all that great. If u know anything about them, lemme know ASAP how well they work so i know if i should order it or not.

Happy smoking and Thank You,
Newman Green

UPDATE PICS

Hello fellow stoners

Sorry i havent updated in a while, i've been very busy....or lazy....or maybe a mix of the two

Well here's what you've missed:

I started flowering about a week or so ago and i can already see some buds forming, which is fucking awesome

I havent gotten my package with the soil i need to transplant them...not so awesome. I know the girls are HATING those small pots they're in but there's nothing i can do until i get that dirt. Hopefully tomorrow, its already taking longer than any other package in the past so i dont think it will be much longer. The ones i havent transplanted look considerably smaller and weaker than the ones i have so i really wanna get the others on board.

Its starting to look like a real Field of Green in my closet now. Sometimes i'll just stand there and stare into my closet. I LOVE IT!!

I recently started growing white widow from gh and noticed the same curling in the new growth. I think it's just a process the FATASS indica leaves need to go through to get to their final width. Could you imagine how big the tops would have to be to accomodate that fat of a leaf when it's born? Just food for thought. Lookin nice tho

Flowering Pics

hey guys, just wanted to post some more pics. I love how these girls are growing. They've been in flowering for about 10 days and you can really see those white pistils starting to grow everywhere.

The Church strain has a much more sweet, or perhaps fruity smell. The Himalaya Gold is more pungent and has an almost musty or wild smell.

I sent an e-mail to the site that i buy all my supplies from and i got some bad news....they are on holiday until this wednesday so i wont be able to transplant until i get that, which will probably be the wednesday after that including in the shipping time. It seems i fucked up pretty bad there

Hey guys.

So its been a while. But things are going more or less good. They're starting to pack on some real weight now. I actually had to tie one up because it was starting to lean a little.

STILL NO PACKAGE ....really pissed about that.....I managed to transplant two of them with the old that that was too harsh for the seedlings. They looked so much better the morning after.

On a good note. The ladies are starting to get nice and frosty now. I feel like every day i can see the progress

Anyways, Happy Smoking and i'll keep you posted

PACKAGE HERE!!!!!

Ahh i finally got ALL the soil i'll need for a while. I had to call a taxi to get it home because it weighed so damn much It took a long time to transplant everything and i even got some cleaning done in the room, so thats good too. It looks alot nicer in there though i think, kinda more professional in a way. I'll have to remember all this for my next grow. I'm just gonna order EVERYTHING in advance so i'm prepared....but still not bad for my first real committed indoor grow.

Now all i have to do is stay on top of the nutes and i'm in the clear. Well here's some new pics of the room setup as it is now. And of course....some pot porn

update pics

Hey guys and gals

Ok so they've all been transplanted for a few days now, and i can already see a difference. The leaves are starting to get gradually more green starting from the top and working its way down. They've really starting packing on weight now, and in the process one fell over. Or rather a big bushy one fell over, which in turn knocked another down.....so thats kinda lame. They seem perfectly fine though so i dont mind all too much. Maybe i'll tie them up or something.

I figure i probably have around a month or so left until the big day Very Happy Man i cant wait!!! Its getting so tempting these days. Guess i'll be learning some self control as well Wink

Happy Smokin
