strain differences???

Hello all! Well I tried to post this question the Growing FAQ's section, but for some reason am unable to post there. I posted in the Feedback section to inquire about it. I don't even know if THAT was the right place, but here goes:

My question is this, and I know this is go to be subjective, but I am looking for a good strain to order. I am aware of the dangers of ordering seeds, and have not made up my mind yet if I will...I just want some feedback on some strains as I really don't know the difference other than physical appearance. My history is I usually buy a bag from someone...having no idea the strain or the name...just some good 'ol weed. But now I'm growing my for many reasons, so if I'm growing...I'd like to know the differences.

So seeing ALLLLL the different kinds of strains out there, I am wondering what is good for a "cerebral" high???? I like to smoke while I do things...paint, outdoor work, remodeling my house...etc. For the most part I don't like to be couch locked, unless I need something to help sleep...which happens now and then. So I guess some info on that would be cool too.

I guess I'm just looking for a general difference in strains....not a whole lot of detail (unless you want to give it, I'm ALWAYS wanting to learn more), but I don't expect anyone to write out full dissertations on every strain.

Or better yet, if someone can point me in the right direction, I can do the research myself. I just like hearing (reading) different people's opinions.

Thank you so much!
