noob needs help
Ok guys and girls, I have a question for you. I currently have 3 sharksbreath growing in a closet garden and they are clones from the same mother plant. Now, these 3 have been under 24 hrs of light since they were cloned and have had absolutely no dark periods what so ever. They are about 6 weeks old and range from 9"-15" tall. The thing is...they are flowering, just a little but there are definetly hairs. What am I doing wrong? I even bought more lights with higher lumen output hoping more light of better quality would push it out of the flowering stage but they're still growing hairs.
My closet is approx. 2 1/2 feet deep by 4 1/2 feet long and I am providing 15,000 lumens with fluorescent tubes. I keep them about 2-3 inches above the plants since the tubes don't give off much heat. All 3 plants are totally bathed in light. I don't think they will be overly tall as they are an indica heavy strain. Is it possible that this is maybe a recessive trait with sharksbreath strain rearing it's ugly head or am I f*@king up somehow? The guy I got the clones from said that he got the mother as one of a bunch of clones and that he doesn't recall any of his doing this. Last edited by cmd130; Jul-24-2009 at 02:47. |

PLUS the age of the mother plant, genetically speaking. Which means your clones are showing you there girly parts in the form of pre-flowers. This is a good thing. The mother they were cloned from likely was already showing pre-flowers so the cuttings pick up right where they left off.

Pre flowers are a normal part of vegetative growth. They aren't a sign of oncoming bud formation but just the general maturity of the plant. The chemicals required to start bud formation only are created in the absence of light. Your little girl is growing up, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she is flowering.

I really appreciate the information guys! I was kind of worried. Oh who am I kidding, I was very worried, lol. Thank God for the pot smoking community and their willingness to help other pot smokers grow and smoke the best quality marijuana they possibly can.
