Alright I got an outdoor plant that is about 2 and a half feet tall which I topped about a month ago and it grew out quite a few side branches. I started an indoor op with my buddy and we have 5 flowering females right now. I just recently found out(like i just noticed tiny female pre flowers yesterday) that my big outdoor plant is a girl. I want to clone the shit outta that baby but since i just found out its a female is it to late to clone?

Another question the plant is half mine and half my dads and he doesnt want me to ruin his harvest by cloning all of his plant. If i only take a few clones can he still yield quite a bit by harvest time or will cloning it just screw up and make his plant give off only a little weed?

you can clone now with no loss in yield. It will grow more branched to compensate.

all I haveght now is a 1000 watt hps, will a flourescant light suffice for the clones until I gain the funds(about two to four weeks) to get a metal halide?

I would not waste money on halide for clones....flourescents will do just fine untill ready to flower. I used to use halide and now run T-5's and never turned back!

probably save some energy costs too and some heat because my hps gets the room fucking hot!!! How long until my clones will be ready to flower, so your saying just take the clones and use the flourescants until they big enough then flower them with the hps?

once clones have rooted you can flower right away, so it all will depend on your capabilities and yield sought after. If you are SOG growing you could root your clones and put as many as possible for single cola plants. So yeah, clone them and wait for roots, then decide to flower or continue to grow.

I really like the T-5s high output with little heat to worry about. If you have the funds, this is a worthy investment.

some can be pricey, i was lucky and picked mine up for 10.00 each they can run anywhere from 100.00 or higher not sure will have to look around. If they get to expensive for you just stay with regular T-8 or T12's they will work fine for cloning. Maybe just get a couple to spread them out.

not so true....my 400 watt halide barely raised my bill 15.00 month. I think for what you want, you should shy away from Halide.

damn, i can afford those today, should i clone directly into soil or should I buy rockwoll or one of the mediums designed for it?

I have tried many methods and what worked best for me was right into soil...use small cups like 16OZ cups which is easier to monitor waterings...you want moist soil NOT soaking. 7-10days roots will set in, make sure you use a root hormone. You will know when there is enough roots cause the plant will start to climb and grow vigorously.

cool so you mean a a cloning gel like clonex or something like that? Another question The mother is at my house but the grow op is at my friends house like 10 minutes away. What should I do with the fresh cuttings while transporting them to my buddies so they dont die on the way.

yeah exactly.....either clonex or the powder type...they all work really if used accordingly. 10-minutes is no big deal, take your cuttings and put them in water right away...then off......moisten your soil, take a pencil or something and make the hole...place in the cutting that you dipped in rooting hormone into soil and cover it up. Keep it in low light conditions. Mist it a couple times a day....after a week you can mix up a very weak nute solution and spray them with it once a day.

well i tried but it seemed the day after I cloned we had a heat wave where I live(temps were up to 102 F, making my grow room like 110 F) and Im pretty sure theyre fucking dead. They wilted to shit but im hoping if I keep misting and keeping the soil moist that maybe it will root and I can salvage them.

no mean to hi-jack the thread but im kinda in the same boat.. i got a 4ft plant, 4-5 weeks into flowering, is it too late to clone? and whats the avg amount u should take before it gets stressful on the mother?
