lumens
Forget about power, give us your lumens/square footage ratio.
You want to shoot for 5000+ for optimal growing. For instance, I have two 42 watt cfl's each putting out 2800 lumens. Considering I'm only growing one plant in a roughly square foot area this sufficed. If I just doubled my dimensions to a relatively modest 2x2 foot area I would need 4x the lumens. The two 2800 lumen bulbs worked fine for vegging when the plant was still relatively short but I bought a couple 13 watt cfl's to hang in the chamber outside of my cool tube with each putting out 900 lumens. This helps illuminate the lower leaves and gives the room a nice boos to over 7000 lumens in the smallest of grow spaces. Give us that information and then we'll see whats up. |

Yeah actually it seems that lumens/watt for cfl is somewhere around 66. For LED as far as I can tell is around the same range but lets be conservative and say 80 lumens/watt.
80*45+66*186 ~ 16,000 lumens That may seem like a lot but that really only means that you can have at most 3 square feet of grow space for optimal growth. And that's assuming that the light is getting right to the plants. Remember that intensity of light received is inversely SQUARED with distance from source. If your plants are big and your lights are far away like they look in the pictures, much of your ladies are getting very little in terms of light. My two cents. |

the plants get jamed in the cabinet with doors closed i pulled them out for the picture the plant is pushed up againt the lights with a plexiglass sheet holding them down
you guys can rip on my light but i feel they are more than enough for the space and they are all that i can fit in the cabinet anyway there is only about 2 square feet of grow area submaster your number are close but remember that led have low lumen's but almost all that light is absorbable and its is the perfrect temp/wave length that the plants like so its perfect for my grow were space and heat are a problem |
