Gonna Start Finally, Advice from expierienced grower please

The wife and I are finally gonna start growing our own meds......it's just getting to expensive at 100 bucks a quarter of highgrade. I know their are some brilliant minds here so I was wondering if ya'll can help. We own are own house with 2 kids. We wanna order a hydro system that is already put together,( like the hydrohuts), and comes with proper lighting and what not. We have ample space in several closets but really only need say an oz. a month between both of us?? Whats the best system we should get. We have money aside already so thats no prob as long as its below say 2000.

And I have the seeds already, about 50 from SensiSeed Bank

I have some expierience but only with outdoor Earlygirl I grew about 10 years ago which turned out nice. I think I can get through the growing by reading different posts on here. It does sound very intimidating I must admit with all the cuttings and timing of lights.

Thumbs up Intimidating? Nah!

Read the stickies by Stinkyattic.

Cloning is nothing more that taking cuttings, and it's super easy with mj. Really fun, I think, but I'm a geek.

Light timing, simple too. Run bluish lights 16 hours a day or more (even 24 hrs--no timer needed!) until you're ready to make them flower. Then, 12 hours on / 12 hours total darkness. (Switching to "redder" lights helps.) The plant thinks winter's coming, and boom--flowers appear in a week or two.

Starting a small grow is super simple. After you've been at it awhile you may want to fancy things up, that's probably why things look complicated to ya. We start fine-tuning our systems and after awhile it looks complicated at first glance. But the underlying principles remain the same.

One good plant at a time in a bubble-bucket (called DWC) would probably yield an oz. a month, easy. Don't even need a "system." Plain ol' soil grows work fine, too. Read your ass off, then ask questions if something's not clear. Folks here will help you.

Have fun, Hermie

In general, at the novice hydro level, you can expect around 1-2 oz/plant. Ignoring mother/clone techniques, you could harvest around every 3 months.
If you did 4-6 plants each grow, you should have over enough medicine, just to be on the safe side.
I would figure a 3'x3' or 4'x4' setup, which would required 400watt or 600 watt hps light, respectively.

I'm not too familiar with complete hydro packages, but at least you got the spec's you are looking for...Personally, I would buy the tent+hydro system+lights separate, to fit your individual needs.

Yeah, you're probably right.

Sorry, my enthusiasm got the better of me.

Pretty easy to keep yourself in meds at that rate of consumption, though.

LOL we can't all have an Oz off each plant like you DH! Well I can't speak for myself as I have had that

Yeah, realistically about a 1/2oz being a n00b and all. Shit, you may even suprise yourself and get more

Either way good luck and happy growing!

So you guys say buy the "closet" and lighting seperately? Ive been reading about these hydrohuts that come with them, but some reviews good, some bad. And just guessing I need to also buy a airfilter to keep my home from stinking to all hell.

How loud are are these setups? Constant humming? People use seperate battery sources to stay off grid?

keep it simple,if you have a closet u dont need a tent, give it a run with a dwc system maybe 6 plants at a time.a 400-600 watt lamp, a exhaust fan and one recirculating fan.every thing u need for a smaller grow and you really only spent about 400 dollers total.better to not spend a bunch of cash on something that your not sure that u want to persue.
