Thread: Noob question coming through!

hia people! i got a quick noob-like question here and its even 2 parted

scenario: 5 plants in a tent 1x1x2 meters (think thats the 4x4x7 feet tent?) with a 600w HPS.

question: As the plants get bigger and into flowering, the fight for the light gets harder and the bottom parts of the plants are not getting alot of light, its making some small few "popcorn" buds but nothing serious. is it better, considering yield, to just cut of the (sry if bad english) lower branches?


if so: When is a good time to do this? And how much/many should you cut?

I'd try to tuck some of the larger fan leaves out of the way to let more light penetrate the buds.

Some people will clip some or all of the fan leaves to allow light in. This is a highly touchy subject though. A lot of people have a lot of good reasons why its bad, but then again its the same for peeps who condone it.

Any way to add more lights, even if its CFLs?

well i guess its not impossible to add some cfl's but im on a supertight budget atm..

if i decide to blow the budget and buy 3 or 4 could/should i just hang them from the top and down into the forest? (ofc some " away from the plant materiel )
