Thread: Can you do anything with a male plant?

Is a male plant good for anything? Does it contain THC? does it produce any bud? if it doenst produce bud, does the stem contain enough thc to get out of it if you boil it?

I know most people say throw it away, but what if it is all you have? can you do anything at all with it?

i heard you can make butter and such out of it but i never tried it

I USE THE MALES ALONG WITH ALL MY TRIMMINGS, AND MAKE BUTTER. NO SENSE IN LETTING ANY OF YOUR HARD WORK GO TO WASTE.

I heard of people making hash, or butter for edibles

so then I take it that it does contain THC

YES, IT DO.

The best way to ultalize the males is to make bubble hash from them.

No point in smoking them, theres hardly any THC, probs wouldnt give you any efect, and there no point in boiling them.

1] The stems have hardly any THC anyway, male or female
2] THC wont break down in water, you need oil or butter

I save them to use instead of tobacco when I harvest a female.

The only thing a male plant is good for is pollinating a female plant so you dont have to go online and buy more seeds .

Eh, I've smoked leaves off male plants, and it had some effect. Not great, certainly no one-hit wonder, but it was definitely better than nothing, and at the time it was all I had. If that's also your situation, I'd dry the leaves and smoke them until you get something better.

Well, the thought's good, but just hang a picture of whatever torture technique you used and get that pollen FAR away from your girls.

Okay, planted 2 plants and unfortunately both turned out to be males.

Im not really a heavy smoker- when i have weed which is often, I usually smoke about 1-1 1/2 joints per day.

Anyways I clipped a branch off of one of my male plants about a week ago and hung it in the shed. today, i wanted to smoke but didnt have any real bud. after reading this forum- i decided wtf.. Ill give it a try.

So in a grinder- I broke up about a fat orange zigzag of Pollen sacks and leaves (mostly pollen sacks tho) and rolled it up. after that i went and smoked the whole joint.
Besides It tasting like shit, and making me have to take a nasty shit directly afterwards (which may be a coincidence or due to the disgusting amounts of pizza I ate yesterday :-D) it wasn't horrible. After I smoked the joint I smoked a cigarette. About 3/4 through my cigarette I wanted to put it out, Which is usually what happens when i smoke weed and then a cig. directly afterwards.

Getting back into the house- I noticed I wasn't stoned- but I was high which is def. SOMETHING.

Moral of the story: You can get high off of male plants If your desperate and it takes about 4X the amount.

If I were to smoke regular bud- it would only take me about 5 hits till im high as opposed to the whole joint i had to smoke which still didnt quite compare.

I just smoked 4 (yes, four) joints of my second grow.. (male, as the first one too, unfortunately).

I didn't want to waste all that time that I had put into growing.. so I decided to smoke it away. What the heck, you know?

I do not smoke often, but I know a high when I 'feel' one. And this is definately a high. Though not very good (I am slightly drunk also, but the weed seemed to overwhelm it), but I'm glad I didn't throw the plant a waste.

I'll answer, even if it isn't really any of your business. For one, I wanted to see some of the posted images - whis btw isn't possible for non-members. Secondly, I had my other personal reasons.

I keep the males, and what's left of the females(after harvest) for hash oil. Let em dry out, put it in a blender, then pack it into a honey bee extractor, your good to go!!! I'm normally gettin right around 1 - 1.7g's of oil per 100g of shake, clipping, ect. If you've never tried it before, it's a MUST!!!

If all you have is a male, use the seeds and try to get a fem? Lol. Good luck mate.

I have some fresh leaves laying around

I'll chew them up a little bit later if I don't get any objections or reasons why I shouldn't (besides i didnt flush for a week)

ok yea it tastes like mint leaves but the taste made me gag and almost throw up I don't recommend chewing fresh leaves
