Hey buddy, was just re reading your last thread yesterday, "What's in the flower room" because I am thinking about a coco coir run with the Canna coco nutes. You still running the same coco set up with the same light cycles??

yeah mate , 50/50 coconut fibre (coir) ans clay pebbles. i use general hydroponics 3 part feed with great results. the light cycle is 11/13 (light / dark) and a final 7 days of darkness just to help finish them. coco fibre will give u great results mate. all the top breeders us it , in matter of fact this years winner at the cannabis cup ( arjan haze from the greenhouse ) was grown in coco fibre.

Do you do a 15 to 25 run off when you water? Any problems with salt build up, and also, what do you PH your water at? What coco brand are you using? I am thinking about the GH or the Canna.
I would maybe do it where it is a continual hand feeding cycle, say 3 waterings a day, but I am going to pick up a little GH coco tech tomorrow and throw this little runt of a clone that is in some soile into some coco/perlite and try to rince it off and do a test with it.
    Well, thanks for the input.

i have no problems with salt build up at all mate , i mix my vegging 2.0 on my cf meter , my ph is anywhere from 6.1 to 6.8 , for cuttings and seedlings i use a 1.4 strength vegg mix. i feed when i water and water only when the pots are truely dry . also i use 5 litre tomato pots . i usually water every 2/3 days , i also only give about 700 mls to each plant at a time. (with weed less is more) i using bio bizz coco fibre at the minute butr that purely down to what my hydro shop has in stock. i have used canna in the past with great results. from a 5 ltr pot and a 2 foot plant i can get upwards on 2 oz a plant. also keeping the plants small and trimming off all the bottom branches u end up with big fat colas like u see in the pics above.

Hal, every time you come back, you make it worth your while. I really appreciate the info. I will be off to day to get some coco. I know that with the Canna coco it is pre flushed, but with the coco your using right now do you pre flush?
I know, allot of questions, just really am liking the coco principles and so on, and eventually wouldn't mind switching completely over. I read a thread on another board not to far back ware a guy did a side by side grow with his bubbler against his brother growing in coco and he said that the coco plants of the same strain were just so much more robust and healthy.
    Well Adieu.

no mate , coco fibre is probably one of the most stable mediums u'll get , it has a netural ph , it hold moisture very well but also it is very light and airy , mixed to a 50/50 mix u get a good medium that drains very well , which inturn helps oxygen get to the roots. i only ever flush when i do my last watering ( sorry i forgot to mention with about 2 weeks to go i use GH ripen formula for 10 days ) and the i put the plant into the dark for 7 days just to finish it. if u look ay my plants i am sure u'll agree they are very healthy . the biggest + point over hydro is that for sum reason u make a mistake, with coco fibre all u have to so is give the plant a good flush , with hydro by the time u notice sumthing is going wrong its normally way too late.

Hey Hal. Well, I have 4 in some GH coco. Two were clones that just rooted in some rapid rooters, 1 was a clone that had been rooted for about a week in some soil, I was able to rince the soil and perlite off and another is just a fresh cutting. I put them all in last night. I cut with a little perlite and placed a layer of perlite on the bottem of the pots.
We will see how it go's, thanks for answering all of my questions.
Also, Planet Ganja has a coco forum that is fairly informative.

Great work Hal. As I said in your other post I am growing SD right now as well. Your fan leaves look alot bigger, I am guessing you were by seed. I am growing by clone. The smoke looks wonderful, and I commend you on your grow!
    Let the good times roll!!
