I've used Hps bulbs from start to finish... What I'm sayin' is I used them during veg as well as flowering.. Just something I was curious about,and I'm sure there are several others that wonder if it were possible... I know it is.... I'm trying some conversion bulbs now.... Just vegging with them to get my cuts stable.. Then after a week I'll swap to the HPS and veg 2 more weeks and then 12/12 here I come..

I have heard from a number of ppl (on here and friends) that do just that. Most get the clones stable and rooted in a clone room then put them right into the HPS's. Some do it very well even with super crops.

I think you get a little less fan leaf growth with HPS which can have a slight impact on flower power. But it works fine cause I know somebody with a 250W HPS and there is nothing wrong with the weed coming out from under that light. Mostly in the genetics.

Oh! It's all about the genes..... For real!!!!! I'm just curious as to know how many do this... I do it and it saves bulb costs and changes.. From 1 spectrum to another.. I like a full spectrum..

Didn't mean for my post to come across like you were a newb or anything like that.

If you only can have one bulb to grow with, make it an HPS. As you have found it can grow start to finish, no problems.

I have grown both ways. Plants are about a foot shorter with the MH bulb use. All other things were about equal.

I don't Trim, FIM, LST or scrog...I just let them grow naturally...

I used to flower under HPS exclusively, but now i veg under a cool 400MH and switch to a Warm Deluxe MH for flower. Like Dutch said, mine stay a little shorter under the MH, but with the naked eye resin production appears better. Also didn't lose any notable weight at harvest.

Plus I like the full spectrum of light for diagnosing problems, much easier for me to see problems without having to move my plants out of the grow space.

I'll take my MH until one of you vets with the LED setup tells me that us normal hacks can pull em off without any loss. Until then i'll sit back, admire the ingenuity, and stare blank faced into the pretty color light.

I love the high from my scissor hash. Harvest is wonderful.

When the price comes down on the LED I will jump at one. Heat is an issue for me so it would be a great improvement.

I probably would too,but they are way expensive for 1 fixture..

Yeah, I love going into my flowering room and checking out all of my black looking plants, since there's no green-yellow light from my blue/red LEDs.

I had huge heat problems before my LED 300w light. I could only run a single 1000w HPS with a 12,000 BTU A/C running! With that LED, there's so little heat, that I never have a problem now. It runs cooler than this laptop I'm typing on.

I found a multi-purpose bulb made by Agrosun in 1000w. It looks more like regular sunlight and worked well for veg & flowering.

no, its not. Genetics give a cap but if you take great genetics & grow like a noob you will be smoking swagg. Dont fool yourself guys, the genes arent going to do the hard work for you. Also, it's a well known fact a plant can go under an HPS all its life & still be al iiight. Either way, MH is more efficient for veg.

Do you run this exclusivly thru the entire grow..?
