i am considering buying this generator since my electric bill goes throught the rough with air conditioning costs i only have one hps 400 and my bill was $431 this month which is ridiculous. if i buy this Super Quiet PowerMax 4400 Watt Portable Gas Generator how many 600 watts could i do and about how long does the thing run for how much gas etc. planning on a slight budget but got plenty to work with. any help is appreciated. you could aslo say im just very paranoid about the police comin in my shit. any help is appreciated.

My experience with gas generators is limited and has been years since i used them. but with the gas prices where they are at do you really think your going to save anything by using it? not to mention they are noisey. you say you looking to avoid the cops well the noise that it generates could not only annoy you but your neighbors. and when they get annoyed they call...

I do wish i had a solution for you.

You could probably run 4 600w lights with that generator safely. You would want to sragger the time each light comes on by a few minutes because they really draw a big surge when they first kick off. A generator that size usually burns about 1/2 gallon an hour maybe 1 gallon on heavy loads. So your talking 4 to 8 gallons per 12/12 cycle so about $12 to $24 a day for gas.
Your one 600w should have only increased your bill by about $25 a month.
