Lighting for Autoflowers

Ok so i am sitting here waiting on some lowryder aks and diesel for a quick winter grow and was wondering what lights i should get. I am just doing an indoor of autos, since its off season for me(love the outdoor). Im really not trying to invest in HPS or MH, my budget is keeping me from this(damn college). I know autos have a short veg period and then flower, but i do not know much about indoor lighting and what would be best to go with for a budget. This is strictly only for autos, can anyone help me out?

Im was hoping to do 10 at a time, but that might be a little overkill if im unwilling to invest in a good lighting system.

I use cfls on 24/7 and they have worked great with my af grows. I have some auto ak-47s on week 5 right now.

For about 100 bucks u can pick up 2 2700k 68watt(4200lums each) cfls($15) at homedepot with standard sockets. Go to the out door security isle and find simple double socket fixtures about 9 bucks. Depending on ur budget u can get even more. And u can get a 150watt 6500k cfl(11000lums) with mogul base socket(probably gonna have to order it) for veg. This will happily grow plants in a 2x2 foot space

obviously the more the merrier! I would get 4 of the 2700k's 2 double socket assemblies and the single 6500k mogul base socket. U should have about 16000 lumens for flower and 11,000 for veg all for about $160 You just need to wire up the sockets which is very simple. Let me know if u need help, u can buy short extension cables and cut the end off and use that.

all that's not necessary jack. these are auto-flowering strains. while the spectrums still apply (although not so much veg/bloom). AF strains will start to flower at about 3 weeks or so automatically.

from what i've read they do best on a 20/4 lighting schedule. just get some CFLs(you can mix the spectrums) a vanity light bar (above bathroom mirrors), some Y adapters and a fan for circulation. you can pick all that up for $60 or so, depending.

you might also need some type of exhaust depending on how many bulbs you decide to run. CFLs do get hot. hotter than HID, they heat is just spread out over a wider area.

there will be plenty of people to help you out.

Well, lets start out with how much space you plan on growing with and its location... a box or closet? ventilation is a must in a confined space. what does your budget look like just for light? Although it would be nice most the time u cant just hook some lights up and expect a smooth grow, u need to take many things into account.

light

Lowryder growguide

try this link..

ok i have seen them done both ways 10 under cfl and 10 under hps/mh mix. Must say that the hps/mh mix out did the cfl. yeild wise that is. But there are many other factors involved. Look at ebay there are 400 watt hps on there for around 100 bucks . If you do that you will only need one light and get better results. I have seen ten grown under 540 watts mixed cfl/hps/mh in a 4x4x5 area and do awsome. Remeinder 3 out 10 grew 2' or bigger. so be prepared for that other then that they are awsome and quite tasty...

here you go

here is somthing i found in the grow guide from the joint doctor himself....

YIELD Depending on light and other factors, Lowryder yields up to 45 g – one report even claims 96 g for one exceptional plant under hydroponics. Extremely light-dependent in terms of yield. Without adequate conditions, plants may stay extremely small, almost comically so – but still produce a decent smoke
