Thread: Friend has a felony and a misdemeanor warrant, HELP PLEASE! :[

Maintenance came in when him and his roommate weren't there to change their filters, their leasing agent came with them, saw weed and then called the cops. They searched with a warrant (weed and addy). Their felony is for a controlled substance. Friend's roommate spent a night in jail but my friend hasn't been home. What can they do? I'm really worried about them. :[ We're in Texas btw.

There is really nothing you can do. Most states allow a landlord/maintenance person to enter a tenant's property in the event of an emergency without any prior notice.

Your friend should seek legal advise from an attorney immediately, and hopefully resolve this if it in fact can be.
