Thread: 1 hitters... how do you like them?

I'm sure everyone here has smoked out of a one hitter at least once, and I'm willing to bet that a few of us smokers own one.

Today I got a nice glass bowl sized perfectly for one big hit per bowl. It even has a little carb, and it a little longer than a bic. Pretty cool.

So what kind of one hitters do you guys like?

Good to conceal if you need quick hits but I have learned after a while it is best to chill and take your time. It's up to you though if that one is what makes you happy then that's all that matters. Personally I think it hurts sometimes. I prefer water pipes with a slide bowl for comfort and a cool smoke.

I love it. i just got this badass dugout with cigarrette one-hitter. great for smoking on the go and in public, although i don't like to. It's great for helping save weed, it teaches you to smoke smaller amounts and lowers your tolerance (my personal observation ). i like it because if lit correctly, no smoke issues through the end and the bud just melts down into ash . in fact, i'm gonna go blaze mine right now.

Of all my glass pieces my one-hitter seems to get me the highest and manages my consumption. A few small green hits on the one hitter gets me just as high as a couple of rips from Candy (my Chaos bong).
Plus it is much more discrete for travel

I have a one hitter that is in a dugout. It is nice for some quick hits. Although, it can get pretty harsh sometimes. Especially if you smoke more then one. Sometimes it can get very hot. It is metal though. I've never used a glass one.

Personally, I prefer one hitters that get stuffed so full that they evolve into 2 or 3 hitters.

Then again, if all I have are papers... I usually go to the store for a blunt.

I like one hitter sized pipes (no longer than my pinky finger) with a large bowl that half a gram can fit into nicely. mini mound of weed.

But for a real one hitter, I had one that worked great, never wasted any weed. I miss it...

Absolutely my number one choice of consumption these days. Small and slick a need maybe .3 instead of a joint. The smoke is much less than other methods and can be controlled. Its like lighting up a new joint every single time, using less, and tasting just the herb.

i have a little glass one and its pretty straight.

the only thing i dont like about it is how fast the resin builds up in it

I recently got one of those silly lookin fake cigarette one-hitters called, euphamistically, a 'tobacco taster'. lol!
My only question is, how did I live without for so long!!?
In terms of preserving your stash and not wasting weed, it's the best method I've found yet. Rather than keeping an 'emergency pinner' in my purse for those scary panicky moments, and then having to add to my stress trying to find a discreet place to smoke, I keep a fake cig packed with literally less than a tenth of a gram and tucked away, and I don't even really have to go hunt for a convenient dumpster to duck behind.

the discretion that one-hitters give is just great. i used to work at a very busy shopping center/strip mall and i would always step outside and toke a little when the customers were pissing me off...glass is definitely preferable to metal, but i also have one of those little cheesy cigarette ones and it IS perfect. i mean, it won't do when a bowl will, but for a quick litlte smoke at work or school...there's nothing better. i bought this really awesome one made of rainforest glass or something that was awesome. i also saw one with a HUGE bowl and a carb...just seemed a lil impractical.

I must admit i hate 1 hitters, maybe they just give me the damn annoying buzz [i cant smoke and not get "high" that will be worse than not smoking at all for me]

plus alot of times u cant hide the thing when using it, its like lighter/fire 2 inches away from your face and u have to bend over n shit so no1 can see u, while the longer your tube/pipe is the easier u can keep your fire lower!

plus i have burned myself tryin to use one of those...

EDIT: I have only seen the crappy metal ones u cant even hold, the thing was like 2 inches long! but still i cant smoke n not get high, a buzz will just get me annoyed!

i dont have a one hitter, and i dont plan on having a one hitter, nor do i plan on ever owning several one hitters. To me they are useless, they dont really even contain enough weed for you to get high most of the time, then the rest of the time they are shaped as bats and they are a pain to have to repack. why not just pack a half bowl, or even a quarter to get the same effect, that is what i do, ill smoke several quarter bowls until i feel ive had enough.

I have an awesome bullet one hitter. I can't even remember where I got it, but so glad I picked it up one day. It's great to bring in my purse to partys because it dosn't get crushed like a doobie and I can fit 5-6 long hits off it. It has a twist off cone top with a lighter hole, which minimizes the smoke and stashes my weed. I just had 2 puffs from it last night before going out to a party and I was buzzed for the majority of the night. The best time was when I was at a party where I didn't know many people other than my boyfriend and he left me with a group of girls I didn't know. One of them said jokingly "I totally would smoke a doobie right now" - and I said -"me too - lets go" We then got 2 other girls and had some tokes from my little purple bullett. It was a great icebreaker. The thing about weed is that not all smokers are hippies, like portrayed in the media, and I find the reaction halarious when people find out I partake. They always say the same thing "I never would have guessed you smoke pot." I guess because my look would be considered to some as a high maintenance-girl When I find myself in an unfamiliar environment and then seek out another stoner, it feels like you've got a "secret connection"

Anyway, I really got off topic, but I recently ran into one of those girls from that random party and she said "I remember you and your purple one hitter" 'I was having a crap time, but you made the whole night so much better."

Now that's a compliment!

1 hitters are good if u want to conserve on weed. as said above, they really do lower your tolerance to weed. especially goin from that to like a bong or somethin the high is really great
if u pack it really good and dont torch the bowl all at once, u canreally get a lot of good hits outta just one bowl i always pack 2 or more tho

I love my one-hitter. It's all I smoke out of, and all I've smoked out of for years.
Makes my weed last a long time, gets me just as high as anything else I've tried, very discrete and concealable, portable, I just can't think of enough kind words for it.

Yuck! I'd rather smoke out of a home made aluminum foil pipe. Personally I like a nice joint with a roach or a 1/2 packed bowl w/ a match (or magnifying glass mmmmm). I don't like smoking 1/2 burnt Cannabis and I don't like the taste of butane. If I had an unlimited supply I'd definately do a vaporizer but I find it doesn't get me as high as smoking. Cough to get off baby! Cough to get off.

well, they don't waste any herb, and you get a clean hit without paper, etc.., but they taste like shit ... I sometimes use one while traveling, or indoors, but it goes untouched for long periods ...

just recently got a dugout with the little half cigarette thing. I play out at several bars 2 or 3 nights a week and a quick toke on the way to a gig, between sets, and on the way home makes it that much easier to play for 4 hours a night. i'll grind up a gram of my home grown and it lasts me a good 2 weeks. Of course when i'm at home i use bongs and bowls and pack them shits full, but my 1 hitter has definitely secured it's place in my arsenal. and i definitely get a serious high.

PS: as far as them being dirty...they take literally 30 seconds to clean...just a Q-tip and a dash of alcohol and it's sparklin' like new.

Anyway, since this is a medical site and one of the challenges that med users face is medicating away from home, I think the 'one-hitters don't get me high enough' reason is less than fully valid for our primary user demographic- you only need a tiny bit of weed to get a therapeutic effect in most cases.

I'm not a big fan. they get hot, blast ash into your mouth, and collect resin annoyingly quickly. And as far as i'm concerned if i'm smoking i like more than a hit. Having to constantly repack your bowl sort of cancels out the "on the go" easiness one hitters are known for.

everybodys different, so that's cool if you like them. for me though i think they are useless. i would just be wasting weed. 1 lil hit never does it for me, i need more then that.

They're no good for me now. Tolerance is way too high. Plus they feel awkward in my large hands. To add to that I hate using a lighter, and they normally get dirty very fast. I like the idea though.
