Thread: Is it worth buying an ounce?

Never got or seen an ounce of weed, ever in my life... Always gotten small bags now and again.

How big does an actual ounce of marijuana look like? And is it worth spending AUS$270 on it or going halves with a mate?

an ounce is usually worth it but make sure you get the right amount. Also, going halves with a mate would be good cause its the same price/amount of weed. So you get the ''buy in bulk'' price with a smaller amount of weed.

ounces are ideal for me. i can get an ounce of good mids for $100 and i know people that buy 8ths for $30. sell half of it for 30 dollars an 8th, BOOM i just got paid 20 dollars for owning a free half. yeah I'd say ounces are worth it.

Yeah i think it is. The price is a bit tight though. Around here its $300 an ounce..... but i got a friend in melbourne who can get it for me for $190 an ounce so its cool.

But yeah, having a whole lot of weed is cool..... but if you are looking to save the money.... it doesnt always work.

When i buy in bulk i usually end up always rolling phat as joints and cooking it. So i go through it pretty quick. and then i wish i conserved it.

i bought an oz before..and it was worth it.. the key to it tho is to sell it ..and smoke with your friends..and make them throw down on the weed so you make all th emoney back exapt for what you smoked..and you can uy another one and such

The real question is -

Is it worth buying less than an ounce?

An ounce? Right about that would be more than worth it .

If your dealers are fair to you, an ounce, and no less than half oucnes are ideal for buying. A fair dealer should lower the cost of the overall weight when buying in bigger quantities, but in some cases, some dealers won't do that.

You see, some charge lets say $40 an 1/8, average cost I think, and there are 8 1/8's in an ounce, so some prick dealers will just keep it at that cost, and charge you $320, which is a huge ripoff.

Around here, 1/8's are $35, and I usually buy an ounce once a month or so. For me to buy it in 8 1/8's, it would run me $280, with 8 trips. If I were to buy in 1/4's, for $60 each, it would still cost me $240, in 2 half ounces for $110 each, $220.

For an ounce at once though, I pay $190, so there should be at least some savings when you buy in ounces.

If there isn't, I suggest stick with small bags and find a new source for larger bags. If your dealer only deals with small amounts, there is a good chance they either won't sell an ounce to you, or they will rip you off, for one main reason, and that's money. You get a dealer who sells grams or 1/8's, and he sells an ounce for less, that is about a $100 they lose. There is more money selling in small amounts, but also more risk.

Either way, find a good dealer and go for it.

Eyeballing an ounce varies greatly. It all depends on how dense the buds are and that is very different from strain to strain, and there are thousands of different kinds.

Best way to know is to buy a scale. That's the only way to 100% know. Any other time without a scale, you're maybe half right.

Exactly. Find a good source, and do what I wrote above. Buy an ounce for $190, sell 8 1/8's and make $280. That's a $90 profit right there.

Buying QP's is even better. For selling that is.

OBVIOUSLY! the weed is only such a ridiculus ammount cos weed smokers who buy from street dealers tend to be too poor to afford more but in reality ur being fleeced! think about it like this, every time u by a tenz draw ur paying a fiver for the weed and a 5er for the dealer to:

use his money to buy the weed
go and risk buying a shitload of weed from gansta types
weigh and bag the weed and get rid of he stems
petrol for him to roll down to your place
danger money for the fact that he'll go down if he gets caught
his time

all of those factors apart for the 1st are massively scaled down when u buy in bulk so in my opinion its not only foolish but also ur maximising the risk of u getting busted or involved in shit by picking up so often!

If u have the money, buy by the ounce and excercise a bit of self control (even if that means baggieing it up under your floorboards and only taking an eight out a week!)

PS: dont buy over an 8th untill u'v got a trusted dealer and even then MAKE SURE HE WEIGHS IT INFRONT OF U AND SMOK A JOINT OUT OF THE WRAP WITH HIM!

once I got fleeced by a dealer I trusted for a halfO cos I din't open the bag and trusted that the zoot he gace me was the same stuff

the only was to get it is by the Zip
me and the wife smoke and a zip is about a weeks worth

once you find a good dealer, defiantly buy by the ounce, price break and its a heavy bag. My slices are usually a little light, but my ounces are solid so it makes even more since.

lol dunno how you've survived that long with that math... but.... with those figures you'd be getting paid 30 for owning a half.. not 20...
