Can shake be just as good as bud?

Alright, well my friend who's my medicine connection told me that he's mostly out of bud and left primarily with shake. Thing is, I've never smoked shake before, and the fact that he thought it important enough to mention kind of makes me feel like it might not be up to par with bud. This shake is actually from a very potent strain, Grand Daddy Purple, and he says that he gets just as high from the shake as he does from bud, and thinks that the shake might actually be even more potent than the bud as he believes thc crystals and other cannabinoids from the bud would sink to the bottom of the bag along with the shake.

He's a pretty reliable guy, never had any problems with him, and a friend, so I doubt he'd deceive me to make a buck off me, but I still can't shake the feeling (pun possibly intended) that the shake just won't do the job, at least not as efficiently.

What do you guys have to say about this?

Nothing wrong with shake. I use it for my brownies. Pick out the large leaves and try to stick to the actual trimmings for smoking. There's plenty of thc in the trimmings. A lot of people just throw it away. I always save mine mainly for edibles.

GDP is good and shake from it would be, most likely the same, and many other strains! Nothing wrong with shake, unless you pay full price. Goes from $35. an ounce all the way up. Often has pea sized buds to the trim in it. But, sounds to me, this is bud shake, both are just fine. If you grind, the shake is a bit quicker to set up. I have not compared it, but I find no difference. I get what I can afford. pr

Yep there's lots of good meds still left in the trimmings. For people on a budget I would encourage them to ask about it at there local dispensary. Just tell them you're going to use it for edibles.

Shake is just loose shit , random sticks and dust and leaves. When I used to buy a sack before MMJ. I would always smoke the shake first , it's usually dry and it's good no doubt but the buds are better.
