I have been offered employment at Harrahs casino. They do a pre employment hair test. I am a medical marijuana patient in CA. (Casino is in Nevada) Does anyone know their policy reguarding medical marijuana?

You will still have to take the test and will test positive for THC metabolites and will probably be denied the job. The Governator vetoed a bill about a year ago that would have protected MMJ patients from employment related drug screens, and I'm sure Harrah's doesn't not test for THC metabolites, as that is basically what the majority of drug screens catch, making it essentially useless for them to hire people that don't pass the test they just paid somewhere around $30 for. Sorry.

If I were to grow cannabis, I would only do so to supply myself and my close friends. Doing this would take myself and my friends out of harms way by knowing the source of our cannabis, as well as take hundreds of thousands of dollars off the black market annually. It would also lower the demand of black market cannabis, and would ultimately help keep cannabis out of the hands of minors.

I past a drug hair test once. Went to a head shop and bought a product call Klean Hair, or something close to that. I washed my hair with this product then went to my drug test and passed with flying colors. It was like $50 for one application of this shampoo stuff.

im not sure if that one particular employer would automatically fail u and not offer employment because of testing postive for thc,my guess would be yes.they are a major corporation and honestly u having thc means your a liability.but a lot of places will look the other way,do what u can to fool the test but if it shows up positive for thc tell them after the fact.who knows maybe they will hire u. granted u can prove your a legit patient and dont use in the work place.if u read the laws for medical mj,being a patient does NOT in any way protect u from work place drug testing wich is a big bummer but it just the way it is. like i sed do what u can to pass,if u fail u fail.they might tell u to get clean come back take the test and then they will hire u.what do u have to loose right? ohhh way i have a solution.have your friend go in and find some one that looks cool enough to give u a strait answer.have them get to talking and just throw the question out there,also have them ask if they do random testing.hell ive done it a few times and then wound up working with the guy i personally asked good luck,hope u get the job

Casinos will not hire you if you test dirty no matter what reason you have. Period. And they also do random testing as well. And you will be canned with a dirty test.This holds true for the Indian casinos as well.Right now the Cali Casinos are doing a lot of random testing in order to reduce their staff. Instead of laying off, they test and fire, this way they don't have to pay unemployment insurance.

I don't know Harrahs policy, but Im about to find out one of the cities since Im a patient and just got tested
