its not going to work the only high you are going to get from smoking ginseng is from inhaling and exhaling. Ginseng if taken for over 2 weeks makes your lungs 30% more efficient at taking in oxygen or thc.

I've also heard of this but I would imagine that the ginseng was wild and that they ate the root. Wild ginseng also has higher levels of the active ingredients, especially the stimulants (which can be found in some energy drinks). This might be evidence to show that the plant can have extreme stimulating effects when taken in large doses. This would make sense as some snipers may be required to stay awake for days to track and kill a target. That's my only reasoning on the subject. I can't think of any other way to explain it.

Also, does anyone have any idea if it will even affect me if smoked and inhaled like mentioned in my original post? Basically, does anyone have a reason as to why I should or shouldn't try it? |

Ginseng is an anodyne, and to receive it's benefits it must be ingested for a period of time. It allows your respiratory and circulatory system to use oxygen more efficiently, and has also been shown to have positive affects on blood pressure, mental function, and the libido.
From what I've heard, the best ginseng comes from Korea, I believe it's red ginseng. Many of the compounds found in those roots occur no where else in nature, similar to some mushrooms (reishi off the top of my head...). Enjoy your music, but please don't look to artists (particularly Wu Tang) to deliver nuggets of wisdom that have basis in the real world. I still get a kick out of hearing someone like Rizza or Ghostface whatever trying to sound like they're authorities on gong fu because they like watching Shaolin fighting flicks. Likewise, packing a Glock doesn't ordain knowledge of sharpshooting. With the exception of pilots on long ass missions, stimulants are used as a last resort in the military. The jitters aren't something you need when you're using a precision tuned hair trigger, and a misfire could spell sudden immediate death via mortar fire. Or capture, torture, rape (yes rape), then execution. Ugh, sorry, rambling now.... My points: take ginseng, it's good for you. Don't take Wu Tang too seriously.

![]() We Americans as a people have horrible diets and need more of the Three G's: garlic, ginger, and ginseng. Ginger in particular is just amazing stuff. |

you seem to know a lot about ginseng, would you say that smoking a little bit of it in a blunt would do anything? keep in mind I have a probably shitty root that I found in a local Asia Market. |
