Nice bro, what'd you use to carve it out of?

Like a 4x4 or a real piece of wood outta like your backyard or the woods or some shit?

I think I remember reading somewhere that carved wood pipes give off weird tastes or something and you should use some kind of special wood.

It was a little log i found in my back yard haha. It does give a weird taste for a little, but after a while, the heat hardens the wood, so it doesnt burn as easily.

use sand paper now... that pipe will look beautiful

I used a knife for the whole thing except to hollow it out. That i used a drill for, but the rest i carved down with a knife. It took me about 4 days but i did it whenever i got bored.

yeah tech class was the shit for that kinda stuff, oak and cherry were always nice to make pipes with. and a lathe makes it so much easier and nicer to make

Its probably best to use living (not dry) wood. Wood also usually takes a while to catch on fire, but you could always coffee stain the wood.

A little trick I learned in Cub Scouts many years ago XD... just make some coffee, let it cool, and dip the pipe in (or paint it on) and let it dry.

As for the bamboo bong, my friend made one.. said it was amazing but I think he lost it or something. I would definitely not make the bowl out of bamboo though, as its quite flammable. Just go to your local shop and pick up a cheapo slider bowl and stem.

Ahhh.... the Bamboo Bong (also known as the Bambeasley-Named by me haha) Bamboo is much more resilient then wood, and will not catch fire half as easily. Also, even wood has a very high burning point so it wont catch fire very easily either. If you make the bamboo, keep fresh water in it. Especially if you get a live bamboo pole, cause the water still keeps it alive. It'll hit a lot better than most bongs. Smoke it up. PEACE.
