I did a search and couldn't find this one: I have been hanging on to the same 1/4 oz of potent stuff since early october, and I went to take a big whiff of it today (haven't smoked in a week) and noticed it didn't have its original smell. How long does it take for weed to go bad, or not be as potent, or grow mold? should I put it in the freezer? does that help at all? At this rate the rest of this will probably last me well into december.

no clue. if properly stored id assume it could remain potent quarenteed several years.

the smell may just fade off, but that doesnt mean the thc did also. (think of poporri-pretty sure its smell disappears eventually)

If you intend to use it by december then it should be fine. But keep it in a sealed jar. Hopefully it won't have lost any potency...

I have been keeping it in the plastic baggie I got it in and have been keeping it in my desk drawer away from light. I read somewhere that the light is bad for it, I'm not sure I'm pretty new to all this. Would it still be fine if I intend to use it all by december in the baggie or do you recommend switching to a jar?

I heard plastic is one of the worst things to keep it in as it absorbs the THC. It's a small amount over a long period of time so leaving it a week or so shouldn't matter but if you plan to store it months, don't use plastic. I use a mason jar when I get anything over a dub. It works well, glass is one of the best things to use.

It should still get you just as high, but it will probably burn faster(from drying out) and taste worse(also from drying out). If you throw an orange peel in the bag for a couple hours it should moisten it up a bit. You should only leave the peel in for 12 hours or something though so that it doesn't get moldy.

To be honest, if you plan to use it by December then I doubt it will pose a problem. Just beacause it doesn't smell as strong, it doesn't mean it has lost potency.

As I say, if you're really worried, put it in a glass container and keep it out of light. Depending on how quick you will use it - in a baggie in the drawer should be ok.

We have a jar of over eight month old weed in a sealed mason jar kept in our refrigerator.Took one pull off from it last night (Romulan)and it just laid me out,I was in shock one big pull could do that to me anymore.So if its done right (sealed,no light,moisture,etc.)you should be fine.First thing Id do is get your stash out of the plastic bag and get a nice sealed jar.Good luck,take care,be well,and most of all be safe.
