About a week ago, I had some extra cash from Christmas, so I decided to head to my local head shop and buy a new bong. When I got there, I knew right away which one I wanted. Beautiful frosted glass, but not too over the top or expensive. It was awesome, and the first bowl I smoked out of it rocked.

Now, however, it's mysteriously broken. I know for a fact that I didn't do anything to break it (I broke my last bong within a week of buying it too, so I was DAMN careful with this one.) Whenever it wasn't in my hand, it was laying on a blanket or towel. There's a large crack on the bottom of it, that goes slightly up the side. The bong is still usable, as the crack is really thin, it just leaks a whole lot of water. Right now, I just have some packing tap over the crack. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix it?

That happened to me before too! It' waz an awesome 2 barrel bong that i paid like 80$ for, and as i waz filling it with water, the bottem barrel tapped the sink, then i looked and it waz broken and i had only had it for like 3 weeks, i waz so pissed, best bong ive had! Anywayz, know how ur feelin man, sorry to hear, it sucks!

Damn. Yeah probably stress or inperfection in the glass. Need to watch out I found out that headshops are getting quite mischievious in selling defected shit! hence I learned with my bubbler which hit 20 bowls then out of no where just never hit again even after it was completely cleaned out!!

That sucks man, how much was it? I saw a freind break a $850 one once... that was hard to watch.

Super glue or epoxy that damn crack. It may not be the prettiest fix, but it will work! Just my .02! Happy Tokin'!

Seal it with epoxy resin. Superglue wont do the trick because of the water. If you do it carefully, it should come out pretty good and not be that noticeable.

Yeah, I would completely empty it and let it dry out all the way and put some epoxy or super glue..better than leaking water all over the house while your trying to take a hit..I guess it could of been worse..you could have a crack in your head.

I had a broken bong that leaked alot once, we would just hit it in the sink and keep refilling it.

i agree with everyone on the epoxy/super glue, though i suggest using gorilla glue, just put a dab on the crack and rubbing it in, it expands so it will fill the gap, but not expand the crack, and it is also clear, and it is the "toughest glue on earth" i use it on my cracked showerhead, and no leaks.

DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE!!!!!!


i have 2 broken bongs that i've sealed up with rubber silicone aquarium repair glue (purchased at aquaruim supply store)... It works so well and ive brought otherwise useless bongs back to life... it's meant to get wet so it will last a long time...it is also clear so it doesnt look TOO bad...

Thats called a tempetture stress crack, if it broke all on its own, such as had no water in it was sitting all buy its self undisturbed, then that is a flaw of the glass maker or blower. They did not properly annel it. that is the process where you have to raise the tempurature of the entire peice and keep it their for a certain amount of time, then steadely and slowly bring the temp bakc down to room temp. this is what strengthens the peice. I have seen strees cracks happen when people put hot water in it then use ice or snow or take it out side in the frezzing cold. the extream temperatur shocks the glass and stress crack happen. I would take it back and tell em what happend if they dont replace it, then you could ask the blower to fix it. it takes about 10 minutes to fix it like brand new, however it will take about 12 hours to annel it. Depending on how skilled the blower is he might not even have to stick the peice in a flame. If I were to fix something like this I would just stick it in a oven or kiln and leave it and let the oven fix it. it would take a bit long er but that would free up my time to do real work.

So the same thing happened to me... as I was emptying out the dirty water, the base of my bong tapped the porcelain of my bath tub and got a huge crack. I let it dry and stupidly used it a couple more times before the base broke into a couple pieces.

I used aquarium glue to seal it back together and it seems to have worked so far, but I need to let the glue dry for 24 more hours before I'm even gonna think about using it again.

Couple questions though... would putting an extra seal of JB Weld on the outside of the bong over the aquarium glue be a bad idea? I mean, it seems like extra reinforcement, but I don't want to end up ruining the seal.

Not to mention, after using the aquarium glue, did it have a different taste afterwards?

YES i use gorilla glue on everything that cant be duct taped.

Wow this is still going.. This is nearly 4 months old...
