Have any of you heard of a pipe that collects the resin in the weed? Apparantely, it has a special compartment that you place some bud in. Smoke up a few times, and the weed collects all the resin. Remove the weed, and enjoy.

Although Im not a big fan of Resin, this sounds like a cool idea.

I had a metal pipe that came apart and let you do that. You could fit like a dime in it, but it would be a little harder to smoke if you filled it up all the way. Unfortunately I didn't take it apart often and the idea never even occured to me before it ended up in a lake. It's a long story.

I've heard of those types of pipes. They are usually metal screwable pipes. I'm not sure if they really work all that well, but I guess its worth a shot. I was actually thinking about buying one last night when I came across one on a Russian website.

I agree with Herbal, it sounds like it would make it taste terrible, and load it with teh carcinogens...

I used to do this when I was younger and thought that it got you more high than the weed alone. To me, I find it really doesn't make that big of difference, and if it does, then I just prefer to smoke delicious green instead of tar mixed in. Blech!

We use to roll up joints, and put one in the chamber of a metal pipe. Glass pipes weren't really around yet, but you could, probably still can, is metal pipes with long, fat chambers. We'd put one in there, smoke the shit out of the pipe, and out would come a gooey, tar covered joint.

Funny enough, I'm ripped and listening to Straight Edge by M.T. How ironic.

HerbalConfusion, i cant understand how you add more carcinogens by using weed to filter the pipe. if anything it sounds like itd catch any debris from the burning bowl. and while smoking res may not seem like the best idea im not sure how it can be carcinogenic if weed isnt carcinogenic.

i mean if anything you might be getting some debris in your lungs, and correct me if im wrong, its only gonna be weed or carbon(dirt,ash) and while its not good for you, i dont think it causes cancer

Weed is very carcinogenic. Resin is the leftover carcinogens, what is left after the weed is burned, while thc evaporates at half the temperature.

yep i was at my friends the other day and he starts takin apart his pipe and pulls some blackened bud out and i have to say couple of hits of that ur good but it dont taste too great but it does burns forever

I had one kinda like this a couple years ago you can put bud in the middle and smoke went threw it making it all resinated.

resonated weed is just like smoking resin from your pipe on top of ur weed, gets u higher than just weed but tastes worse. i hate resin im anti resin so i would never do this to my poor greens.
and i also feel smoking resin is a little desperate(not calling anyone who smokes it desperate)

I prefer my smokable to be the green bud over anything, but hash gets you really fucked up and it lasts a while. One of my friends had this black hash you can make out of resins from a pipe. But anyways, today I found my friend's old wooden pipe. Which is a weird story.

My friend Jordan who smoked gave it to this pothead friend of ours named Jesus, and he smoked out of it for like 3 months like everyday. Later, he gave it to my best friend smoking buddy Cody. Cody and I toked out of that thing like none other for about a month. Then, he lent it out to this kid named Spencer and he had it for another month and a half. And eventually, Hippy needed it back.

So I asked for it back because he knew Hippy was my friend. And I've been planning on giving it back, but tonight all my dealers were all dry, and I didn't want to drive an hour away, but I had only a roach left. I smoked out it out of that old pipe. Quickly enough, I figured the roach was cashed and gone. So I planned to take one huge hit out of this pipe and go to bed. (It is 2:45 AM; this detail is important later.)

So, I ripped the sucker clean and realized that it was definitely cashed, but I wanted to test my luck and see if it would hit again. I really wanted to get stoned tonight. I take a little rip this time and some smoke definitely came out. And then I remembered that my Hippy friend showed me the resin and talked about taking it out and trying to make hash out of it. I test my luck again with a huge rip this time, and a noticeably amount of smoke comes out. I have ripped this thing all night, it is lasting quite a long time, and have been stoned since 10:30 this night. Finally, I searched on Google:"resins in a wooden pipe" and came about this thread. I then remembered that I had a username for these threads and started typing this story.

Damn, that was a lot of typing. I'm way too high.

What I do is just smoke in a glass bowl then when the res is built up enough i put my finger over the bowl part and put the flame in through the carb, giving me some good res hits. I wouldn't ruin the weed by covering it in res.

what you are smoking is pipe resin, which is esentially the same as the tar that will collect in a heavy smokers lungs. It contains hydrocarbons(i think) that are carcinogenic, and is generallymade up of carcinogenic materials. There is VERY little THC in resin, in fact, you would probably be better off smoking cheap ass Soapbar hash than pipe resin.

i know that sometimes when youre jonsein youre jonsein, i used to do it too, but i put a stop to it. it tastes gross, and the high isnt really the same as weed, feels more "poisony". feel free to keep smoking your resin if you need to get high, just know what youre smokin and dont call it Shish!

I have a buddy that has a sneaky teaky pipe that he only smokes crystal in, and the other night he unscrewed it and scraped it, it was really red rez me and my dad stuck a huge glob on a paper and spread it around, we gotta nice buzz but nothing compared to how baked we would be if we rolled a smaller joint of the potent hempstar we are getting right now.

people think you get "higher" to smoke a bowl of weed with resin on top.that's pretty silly.you might as well put ground up Fan leaves from the marijuana plant on top of your bowl.Because their's

When My Glass Pipes Get Dirty and build up alot of resin,
I Boil Them in a pot of water until they come clean.

Resin is essentially a WASTE PRODUCT and definitely not something you want to be smoking habitually. It may get you high, but not without also exposing you to incompletely-oxidised compounds -waste tars- from the original bowl-pack(s). This isn't about snobbery, it's about your lungs!

It's definitely not a 'medical method'. Closed for business.
