I bought alot of pot several months ago... for me anyway. About a Q.

Anyway life happened and I'm now looking for a new job...and I stopped smoking the ganja. I cant test the weed myself.

I have the weed stored in a dark place, inside a tubbaware container, It's really dry and I'm scared that it's going to lose its potency and wont get me high.


How long do I have? Anyone smoked weed several months old? Does it still work?

Your weed will be fine. Only change will be is it will taste smoother and go a bit darker in colour.. If you'v got a mason jar, stick your weed in there, there also very good for storrin weed..

i use those orange medicine containers
are those airtight? cause it doesnt seem like it b/c when i put my nose to the bottle i can smell weed

it wont get bad...but if you keep it in a wooden box ( i use a wooden cigar chest) it actually gets stronger. thats the best way to cure it, trust me!

Hi Miss Jambi , im a little confused as you used the term "cure" instead of "store".
I like the idea of the cigar box although i doubt its airtight but could you clarify if you are storing already cured weed or are you curing newly produced weed?

I don't think you should keep your bud in an airtight container,
(especially if the pot still has a little bit of moisture in it)
Becuase there are anaerobic Bacteria that function in
the absence of oxygen and will attack your bud!
They digest Sugars and release ammonia as a waste product.
The bacteria will often(more likely with moister marijuana)
attack the weed,Turning it from green to brown as they digest the
Cloryphyll.They also destroy many of the terpenes/essential oils
-the odor molecules-leaving a musty ammonia-like aroma.
The marijuana will still be potent as these bacteria don't consume
the THC.

That said,
I believe THC deteriorates over time....but you'll get more CBD

Air, light, and heat all degrade weed. Simplest solution is roll your stash in a small zip lock baggie. Squeeze the air out as you roll it up, then zip it shut and tape it. Then put it in a small paper bag and put it in your refrigerator. If you dry it properly you can do the same as above but keep it in your freezer and it will keep its potency for many years.

Make sure there's no mold, I've heard that can kill you if smoked.

It's best stored in a cool, dark, airtight container. I use an air tight glass container which i place in the freezer.
