Personaly I think a good, well designed bubbler will give the best tokes possible. Taste and high are awsome from a good bubbler. Only problem is they are high matinence, you gotta put fresh water about every other bowl if not every bowl, also they need alot of cleaning. But if thats not a problem, then a good glass bubbler is the shiat

but mine was a high quality well mainted and freakishly clean, so it could be problems if you dont maintain them....

^^ it has to do with the small chambers, if designed well, such as a good carb placement, and a good can, it is harder to get a stale hit, and easier to learn how to use. People often take rips from bongs and choke till they puke, that is usualy not a good hit, granted it gets you wasted. A good hit is sopposed to be pleasent where you taste the herb, and still get a good expansion, and never harsh. Bongs are deseveing in that people have to know how to hit that particular bong or type of bong. With a bubbler its is easy its the same as hitting a pipe. what you are hitting is what you get, with a bong the big chambers can trick some in thinking they can milk it when they obviously cant, this is usualy just a waste of herb (but usualy entertaining). So a bubbler is good for all

^ So true!
I like my bubbler, it hits very well, but the downstem has a thick coating of tar, and it's impossible to clean right now. Someone on here said: A bubbler is a clunky pipe and a bad bong.
IMO, a small bong would be a better choice. The RooR Blue Label 100mL is excellent for around that price range.

I have a small one and its my favorite piece. i use a glass screen because if ash sucks through it eventually turns the water to a black sludge

I have a smaller bubbler and a bigger one. I enjoy both of them very much so. It's a cross between a pipe and a bong. Not huge hitters like bongs, or hot smokers like spoon pipes...but a nice happy medium.
I'd get one if I didn't have one, so I say go for it!

I've made a few bubblers and I've made a few bongs. Bubblers are my favorite by far. Someday I should get around to actually buying one I suppose. No decent head shops around here though.

I've owned three bubblers. The first one looked like nothing special, but it cherried and hit really well. The second was from Bonnaroo 2005 and was beautiful until my roommates threw it out of the car after getting in a minor fender-bender (one thought the cops would come- the dumbass).
My current bubbler is still beautiful. I bought it from a shop cart in Florence, Italy. I was able to bargain the dude down from 45 to 30 euros and then only paid 28 because its all I had in my wallet. It would be worth at least $100 in a headshop in the U.S.
Anyway, yes, bubblers are nice from time to time. I don't think they're as social because (at least with mine) you're tempted to pass it like a pipe, but because you can take such big hits, it clears almost as fast as a bong. I mean you can just keep packing it thought...
