i didnt know anything about this untill recently... my roomate told me that using ice in a bong over time is really bad for you and your lungs.

someone please answer this, is he right? could it be?

I don't see how it could possibly be bad. It pretty much just changes the temperature of the air you breathe in. It's not like walking outside in the winter is going to be bad for your lungs over time. I'd be sick as hell by now if that were the case. I would say it would be better for your lungs then the hot air. Although, a bong hit usually isn't very hot anyways.

Now while i dont believe this i did hear that alot of ice in a bong can be bad for you because it supposedly increases your chances of getting bronchitis this could just be some old hippy tale told around the bong or just some bs told around the bong idk but it just might be true

I believe more ice would be nothing but better for you, seeing as lot of damage to your lungs comes from the heat of the smoke.
plus, ice cold bong hits r the shit.

I Haveheard this a few times as well.

I've heard that having alot of ice in a bong can cause ice crystals/frost to form in the smoke. I've heard that this is bad for your lungs. I hear a lot of things. I, on the other hand, know that inhaling smoke any way is bad for you. So I wouldn't worry too much. I think the ice just cools it nicely.

I've read that Ice gives you less of a filtering effect.More carcinogens.Bad in that way.But, There haven't been any studies done on this that I know of.Difficult to know for certain about Ice in a bong.
